I think there is a differance between flops like The Boz or "Baby Jordan" Harold Minor and overated players. Flops are just that flops - they never really made it big. To be overated you have to have to be good enough to be at least rated but in the minds of some sports fans over rated. In pro sports you also have to throw money into the equation. A good example recently in the news is Danny Neagle, scheduled to make $19M (I think) he has'nt won a game in almost 2 years, overrated you bet. Players like Glenn "Big Dog" Robinson, Vin Baker, and Penny Hardaway come to mind in the NBA. Baseball is loaded with overated/overpriced stars just for starters Bartolo Colon, Mike Hampton, Tom Glavine, Vinny Castillo etc. The NFL and NHL have their share also. The problem with Tiger Woods is his phenomenal success early on has set the bar so high a single ordinary year makes him loook overated and perhaps he is now, but is a guy like Ratief Goosen overated next year if he doesn't win a major? Golf by nature is just wierd. It turned out the Yanks ended up with sevral overated players on thir roster the worst being Jason Giambi who is more overated than Giambi? When you look at what he is being paid and what was expected from him last season was a true diaster for both the Yanks and Giambi with no light at the end of the tunnell.
Just my 2 cents. wil.
local boy...Vinny Baker...Fucks up again !

NORWICH, Conn. -- Former NBA All-Star Vin Baker, whose 14-year NBA career was marred by bouts of depression and alcoholism, was charged early Tuesday with drunken driving after a Connecticut casino.
Baker, 35, was spotted driving erratically after leaving Foxwoods Resort Casino, according to a state police report. He failed a sobriety test and was charged with driving while impaired, police said.
State police spokesman Lt. J. Paul Vance described Baker's demeanor as cooperative. <TABLE class=storyAd cellSpacing=0 cellPadding=0 width="100%" border=0><TBODY><TR><TD class=storyAdObj>

A four-time All-Star forward who attended the University of Hartford, Baker averaged 15.0 points and 7.4 rebounds. The 6-foot-11 forward was a member of the gold medal-winning Olympic team in 2000 and enjoyed his best seasons with Milwaukee and Seattle.
Baker's alcoholism forced the
Boston Celtics to cut him midway through the 2003-04 season. He later admitted drinking in his hotel room after playing poorly and showing up to practice with alcohol on his breath.
He also played for New York, Houston and the
Los Angeles Clippers before being released by Minnesota six games into the 2006-07 season.
Channel 3 Eyewitness News reporter Len Besthoff reported that Baker grew up in Old Saybrook and owns a restaurant there.
Baker, who lives in Durham, was released on $500 bond and is due in court June 26.
Besthoff reported that the person who answered the door Monday at Baker's 9,000-square-foot home declined to comment on the former basketball player's arrest.
