TMAC=The most overrated player in NBA history

The biggest loser in NBA history, everyone laughed at me 2 years ago when i said this guy kills any team he plays on but like almost everything else i say it turns out to be true.

I'm sure some will disagree but I think the most over rated in pro sports today would be Alex Rodriguez.

Sure the guy has great stats year after year but he has no ring. That plus the fact both his former teams actually got better after he left. How is that possible if he is so good?

Ken Griffey Jr. would be a close second as well.

Darko Milicic will be up there with Sam Bowie as the biggest bust
in the NBA, but you can't be pissed at Joe Dumars too much
since they won the championship last year.

Dorko is a joke tho.. I am sure some european agent is laughing
his ass off somewhere. What a salesman he must of been for
this guy to go so high and for the Pistons to buy it was very clever.

It's funny you guys mentioned Baby Jordan i was thinking of him
the other day and all the next Jordans that have been hyped
since the great one has been and gone. Remember the weird FT
style Harold Miner had lol it was comical. I think tho finally we
have the tru next Jordan in LeBron but i would rather say he
is going to be the one others will be compared to in future drafts.
i really didn't wana believe the hype, but the kids that good...

Tiger Woods overrated???!!!!???!!!

He's the only reason i watch golf, after Nicklaus. Who wants to watch a bunch of mostly squares, dorks, & yuppie scum knock a ball around in slow motion?

Tiger will again dominate next year....

Now, a real example of being overrated: Robert Gamez-- remember him?

Another one: fish is overrated for his cholesterol-lowering properties...:biggrinin <G>

Tiger Woods is the only reason golf is popular, when he does not play no one watches it no matter what tourney it is or should I say when he is not in contention which is rare

I would like to submit one that may seem strange; A.J. Feeley. Overrated in the head of Rick Spielman. Why else would he trade a 2nd rounder for a third stringer?

tony mandarich...probably the worst draft pick the nfl had ever seen, until ryan leaf came along

sam bowie...drafted ahead of jordan

todd van poppel...$1 million signing bonus out of high school and he couldn't get me out.

I'm not sure if Van Poppel is the kind of bust, say David Clyde or Brian Taylor was. He has sustained his career, yes as a journeyman set-up man/spot starter, and has made as much as 4 million a year after being relegated to minimum wage and tripleA when he was hanging on for dear life.

you're right...there are probably bigger busts than van poppel. i just threw him out there because i remember when he came out...all the hype and he just plain sucked. he pitched for the cubs a few years back and i would watch him give up hit after hit.

ben mcdonald was another guy who failed miserably. he was supposed to be nolan ryan.

I think there is a differance between flops like The Boz or "Baby Jordan" Harold Minor and overated players. Flops are just that flops - they never really made it big. To be overated you have to have to be good enough to be at least rated but in the minds of some sports fans over rated. In pro sports you also have to throw money into the equation. A good example recently in the news is Danny Neagle, scheduled to make $19M (I think) he has'nt won a game in almost 2 years, overrated you bet. Players like Glenn "Big Dog" Robinson, Vin Baker, and Penny Hardaway come to mind in the NBA. Baseball is loaded with overated/overpriced stars just for starters Bartolo Colon, Mike Hampton, Tom Glavine, Vinny Castillo etc. The NFL and NHL have their share also. The problem with Tiger Woods is his phenomenal success early on has set the bar so high a single ordinary year makes him loook overated and perhaps he is now, but is a guy like Ratief Goosen overated next year if he doesn't win a major? Golf by nature is just wierd. It turned out the Yanks ended up with sevral overated players on thir roster the worst being Jason Giambi who is more overated than Giambi? When you look at what he is being paid and what was expected from him last season was a true diaster for both the Yanks and Giambi with no light at the end of the tunnell.

Just my 2 cents. wil.

Heres what Vinny Baker is up to lately

Bryant "Big Country" Reeves (NBA Vancouver)
Alexendar Daigle (Ottawa NHL)

I disagree about A-Rod. By the standards being set here - if he wins a ring this year he won't be a flop or overrated anymore? Having previous teams improve is not always because a player leaves.
