How do you get a free credit report? Just went to the website and it didnt really offer it to me for free. Any other sites that do it on the spot?

Taking security in the car might not be the answer since he already has a car payment, meaning your lien will be behind the car lender's lien in terms of priority since they will have a purchase money security interest in the car.

this is a pat the bookie loan or i need to fund an offshore acct loan.

wvu, find out what he needs the money for. then tell him you'll pay those bills or payments from your checking acct. if he says no or changes his story then you will know it was for the book.

Why does a college kid have a $450 car payment?

goota keep up with the joneses.....c'mon every youngster is driving a $35K car now with $5K in wheels....even the people living in the ghetto....if they can have that kinda ride, and everybody in the music videos do, why can't he?? - credit is cheap and easy right now. LOL

If you want insurance on the loan, just fade his plays.
That way if he loses and can't pay it back, at least you made some money out of it.

Guys, dont bash WVU here. Even if he gives the guy $2000, do you really think that $1000 will hurt WVU at all if the guys never repays it??

The cashcall on his credit report is REAL troublesome though. I believe that I saw on TV that the interest on cashcall could as high as 100% or so. It is better than a payday loan, but a horrendous option for ANYONE!

Having said that, he seems like he wants to pay the loan back. He wants around 15% interest rate. Really, he should get around 28% or so at a bank. Some would do it for 18% at a bank, but not too many. So desination, if you are serious, then you need to accept 25% interest or so. If he were going to scam everyone, then he would say that he would accept 40% interest or higher.

Obviously the guy has had a bad run in baseball. But that doesnt mean that he wouldnt pay the loan back.

But desination, everyone here is REAL leary because you are BRAND new to this site. If this was someone who had been a while, LIKE Choptalk OR WVU for instance, then you would have had your money already.

I see that alot of posters suggested that he sell the car and take a bus. That is not an option for alot of people. In my hometown, we do not even have a bus system. I only see maybe 1 cab per month on the road around here and I have NO IDEA where they come from. So therefore, without a car, then you have to walk 20 miles to work for instance. Just not an option. Everyone can afford some sort of car for local driving. I dont believe that collateral will help in terms of his car. It would be wayyyy too hard to repossess the car and most likely the car is worth less than $5000.

Now that I have taken up for the guy, it is time for me to ride the fence. He probably has taken loans from all of his family and friends already. If he has used cashcall for a loan, then he is one step away from suicide! If you are willing to pay interest like they offer, then something is SERIOUSLY wrong. This guy will use all of this money on betting baseball this month. Great time to own a sportsbook.

But if WVU feels this guy is good to go, then maybe I will jump on board for $500 or so.

he does have a recent loan taken out July 1 from a company called cashcall on his credit report.

I thought that was kind of coincidental that you would post this. I bet it is the same company. It looks like this guy has exhausted all of his options which explains why he posted. I do feel bad for this guy, but he needs to put a clamp on his spending

Yea i just seen it on a commercial and thought I'd try to help him out and post it.

Dont understand why everyone is jumping all on this guy's case. Everyone makes mistakes in life and he needs to learn. If no one wants to loan him the money thats fine, but there's no need to kick the guy while he is down...
