Bigelow is the fave for director because she won the DGA award. You may have a split where Avatar wins Best Picture though. Hollywood loves to reward box office success and epic scale movies.

What books will have these up first? Anyone hear of odds yet?

i expect the oscars to play out way different than the golden globes. downey and bullock winning killed whatever credibility the globes had (if any).

gabourey sidibe in precious is the type of performance oscar voters reward.

i'd also be shocked if avatar won best picture. hopefully i can find a place that allows me to bet "field" against it.

what movie were u watching......i thought that was one of the best movies i have seen in a long time......great flick...and not just because it was about football....very wholesome , good movie.....and she was VERY good in it..

Robert Downey Jr. is one of the best actors working today. He has enough roles to prove despite his personal past. He has done nothing this year though to warrant recognition in terms of an award. I'll admit that.
