Thomas tyner retires from football due to injuries..... Wow.... Quite possibly one of the states best athletes in the past decade and he's done just like that. Had a ton of potential but never did harness it or at least never got the chance. Crazy. That definitely hurts the running back depth to say the least. Freeman, Benoit, brooks James and griffin are great but ducks have a history of key injuries..... Hope this doesn't hurt too much
from rivals....

[h=3]END OF THE ROAD FOR TYNER[/h]Thomas Tyner’s career in football is over. The former five-star prospect showed promise at times with the Oregon Ducks, but the one question mark that followed him to college was that old injury bug.
There was little doubt that Tyner had talent and, after some injuries his junior year of high school and the offseason that followed, he dominated as a senior with 3,415 yards and 47 total touchdowns including a 643 yard, 10-touchdown performance in an 84-63 win over Lakeridge High School. With that bounce-back year, along with his good size (6-foot and 200 pounds) and his speed (10.35 100 meters), he was ranked as the No. 17 player overall in the 2013 class and many of the worries we had faded. But now, after 1,284 yards and 14 scores in college while flashing some of that amazing ability, it’s sad to see his career end.

The Oregon Ducks are getting a little reprieve from the unusual hot weather (low 80's) in the Pacific Northwest at this time of the year (upper 60's today).
New defensive coordinator Brady Hoke appears to be making his "move" in the program according to Rob Mosley....Go Ducks.com. I'm certain the faithful will be watching that progress with a watchful eye......

Still at it... Hoke's hiring is paying dividends. He steals a recruit from A&M

Oregon Ducks get late 2016 addition
in defensive tackle Ratu Mafileo

Brady Hoke will enter his first season as Oregon's defensive coordinator with some more depth on the defensive line. Ratu Mafileo, a 6-foot-3, 300-pound junior college transfer from Honolulu, announced Tuesday on Twitter that he will be playing for the Ducks in 2016 after verbal committing to Texas A&M.

Hoke could use all the help he can get at defensive tackle as the former Michigan coach transitions Oregon to a 4-3 base scheme.

"With a lot of thinking and with a lot of talking, although I am verbally committed to Texas A&M, I feel more comfortable signing to the University of Oregon this fall," Mafileo tweeted. "Very thankful for this opportunity and it'll be a fun season."
Defensive end Henry Mondeaux, nose guard Austin Maloata and linebackers-turned-defensive ends Torrodney Prevot and Justin Hollins emerged as potential impact players on Hoke's reshuffled defensive line during spring practice.

Defensive tackle Canton Kaumatule, a former five-star recruit, wasn't able to get on the field consistently.
Mafileo had 34 tackles (7.0 tackles for loss) and two sacks last season at the College of San Mateo in 2015.

Kampmoyer, Wayne Kirby and Bryson Young are the other defensive linemen in the 2016 recruiting class.

The Ducks open fall camp next Monday.
