I'm not sure why I am still trying.....this is very unusual for me so I keep thinking it will change:

Thanks for the encouragement. I keep taking a dump in the punch bowl. Cannot figure baseball out this year. Let's keep trying:

Going back to small writeups so at least I can justify and validate my own stupidity.

5/18/2011 (27-45-1 -16.63)

Washington Nationals +105: Nats well rested after yesterday's early rainout. Gorzelanny far better than Niese. Script W logo better than Orange and Blue NY.
Pittsburgh Pirates +143: Don't look now but Charlie Morton has become a damn good pitcher. Arroyo not very good at home. Pirates are tough, Reds are...a color?
Atlanta Braves -111: Braves undervalued here because rookie Teheran got shelled in 1st start....at Philly. Saunders has resorted to throwing underhand.
New York Yankees +108: Yes they're slumping but when you can get Yanks at + against O's with no Brian Roberts in the lineup, take it as long as no one tells Bartolo Colon it's 2011 not 2000.

Just one today.

5/21/2011 (29-47-1 -16.23)

Toronto Blue Jays -136: Two fairly even pitchers but the Jays have so much more firepower and are at home looking to win the series. Astros don't play well inside, have horrible flashbacks from Astrodome days.

And the turds just keep on coming....I even managed to mess up yesterday's date!

5/23/2011 (29-48-1 -17.59)

Philadelphia Phillies RL +125: Utley's return sparks the offense. Hamels has been stellar this year. Arroyo has not. Cheesesteaks trump whatever Cincy is known for...chili maybe?
Los Angeles Dodgers -126: Neither team can hit. Kershaw has been a real bright spot for LA. Norris has been a real, um....well, he's on the team.
Cleveland Indians +109: Best team in baseball, at home against a public team that traveled late night. Masterson facing his former team. Roger Dorn expected to start at 3rd for Tribe.
Los Angeles Angeles RL +105: Oakland starting 3A pitcher who has a 4+ERA. Weaver needs a good outing after a few disasters. Anaheim has Disney, Oakland has...MC Hammer?

If the Dodgers could have held on it would have been a huge day. Although when you've been going like I have, any positive day is a good one.

5/24/2011 (31-49-1 -15.49)

Philadelphia Phillies -112: Phillies bats are awake. Worley has been good in his ML activity, I'll take the low number at home. Philly has Liberty Bell, Cincy has Chad Ochocinco.
Pittsburgh Pirates +115: Jurrjens has been very good. Morton has been better. Hottest bats in the NL: Atlanta? Nope, Pittsburgh. Plus, how cool was the We Are Family thing from 1979?
San Diego Padres +111: McClellan has been good as far as W's but his stats tell a little different story. Harang is the opposite. Tonight I think these P's show their true selves. Plus is there a better city in the US than San Diego?
Los Angeles Angels RL +110: Haren has been amazing this year and Angels are so tough at night at home. Oakland going with second ML callup in 2 days. Just can't back a pitcher with that many vowels in his name.

Gave it all back, plus some. I suck.

5/25/11 (31-53-1 -19.61)

San Francisco Giants -134: Bumgarner has been getting progressively better and finally got his first win last time out. Volstad cannot be trusted. San Fran has trolly cars, Florida has no mass transit whatsoever.
Chicago White Sox +152: Value play for me. Sox have been playing good ball as of late and Floyd has been very good this year. Sox seek revenge for beating Ryan put on Robin Ventura.
San Diego Padres +106: Carpenter has not been himself this season and Latos is finally starting to throw the ball well. How in the hell do I keep backing San Diego? Must be b/c I love the old Taco Bell unis.
Parlay: Milwaukee Brewers, Philadelphia Phillies, New York Yankees 1 to win 2.88: At this point I'll try anything.
Parlay Part Deux: Milwaukee Brewers RL, Philadelphia Phillies RL, New York Yankees RL 1 to win 9.16: Desperate times call for desperate measures.

Thought I hit the big parlay when Philly jumped out early. Knew it was done when they led off the 6th with a triple and didn't get the run home. Feel lucky to have won the small one.

5/26/11 (33-55-1 -19.05)

San Francisco Giants EVEN: No Posey for the Giants but no Hanley for the Marlins. Both pitchers have been very good this year. I'll go with the home team looking to avoid the sweep. Black and orange looks cooler than black and teal.
Detroit Tigers -111: Scherzer has been nails at home this season. Aceves has been...a long reliever.
Chicago White Sox +135: Humber has been flat out dominant all year and is pitching to keep a spot in the rotation. I have to take him at a plus number even on the road. Jays may turn to Dave Steib to close games the way their bullpen has been going. I know he wasn't a closer but I blanked when trying to recall a dominant Toronto reliever.

Give up one run, lose a game. Lose in extras, lose a huge parlay with the best P in baseball on the mound and a 3 run lead...what's next?

5/28/11 (34-57-1 -19.81)

Toronto Blue Jays -115: Like the way Villanueva is throwing the ball. Jackson giving up too many h/bb to keep ERA this low. Jesse Barfield starting to heat up for Jays.
Washington Nationals -138: Zimmerman has been downright dominant recently. 3-4 runs should be enough for him. Do Nats wear Expos unis on throwback jersey days?
Pittsburgh Pirates +109: Maholm's numbers better than his record. Bucs do well against Cubs at Wrigley. Expecting Tony Pena to start raking for Pirates any day now.
Texas Rangers RL EVEN: Harrison has it together after a rough patch. O'Sullivan has come back to earth after a good start. Pete Incaviglia starting to mash for the Rangers.
Tampa Bay Rays RL +120: Matt Garza is just flat out dealing. Carrasco cannot go deep enough in games to carry the Tribe. Fred McGriff and Wade Boggs make a nice set of corner men for Rays.
