this isnt possible with any phone ever on verizon that im aware of.. having cdma limits this.. u would have to be on at&t to access this feature.

even the verizon iphone wont do it. its just because cdma limits it.. I believe even 4G LTE wont allow this.. its still cdma phone service.

I am not an expert on this subject.. but these are my understandings.

Phone Performance and Battery Life
Hey, remember all those AT&T ads where they complained you can't talk and surf at the same time on Verizon? No longer. The Thunderbolt allows simultaneous talking and Internet access on both 3G and 4G networks. I tried it, and it worked well.

interesting betalsports.. i was not aware of this.. being that it was verizons first LTE phone.. i am now under the assumption that LTE takes the phone out of cdma processing voice/data and allows u to use both at once... neat

i personally cant wait to see what phones will come out in the next year or so.. there will be so many 4G phones flying around that it wont be funny.. android will undoubtedly come out with a few dozen :D

Yeah, can't wait..... and of course right now I'm around 85% sure I will be getting the Thunderbolt....then in about 8-12 months I will be wanting what's new and Cool.
Oh Well, that's the way it works with any new Gadget.
I''ll just bear it and grin I guess..... You really can never catch up with the times now adays.

I'm sure you'll be happy with it - but, can i ask why? After all the input we gave you, you settled on a phone that's more than a year old?

Pretty sure Cyanogenmod is available for that phone - not sure if you're up to it, or care, but upgrading to the cyanogenmod rom would be ideal - its a very, very nice rom. Check out xda developer forums if you're interested, there's a whole forum for your new phone.

i didnt know it was a year old... i only had 2 phones to choose from with ATT and the atrix was small keys, the htc fits in my hands better... but i have no service with it so it looks like i may be switching carriers

That sucks... at&t dropped the ball in manhattan for years with their service... so i guess its not surprising. And honestly, i feel what you're saying - ergonomics are really important.

for a 19 buck difference, verizon might be the play - i'd check out the phones in person for both, and decide. i'm a firm believer that a physical keyboard vs. the virtual ones is a big deal, and then size of the actual phone is next.

sprint does suck. i played around /w and evo today and was thoroughly unimpressed
