Easily Elvis. He was one of the pioneers of rockabilly music, which led to rock. He had songs that charted in rock, gospel, blues, country, and pop. He was the first real music sex symbol.

Elvis is by far the most talented and most influential. Jackson is 4th

Thats how I see it. He exploded the music industry. The others on the list are very talented but the era is what separates them and puts Elvis on top

Billy Joel-Best songwriter of the bunch (Elton John had a collaborator in Bernie Taupin and Elvis mainly sang other people's songs)

Elvis-Best singer by far of the bunch

Elton John-Best pure entertainer of the bunch and a great piano player

Michael Jackson-Best dancer and video star

I wonder how many people posting judgements in this thread have even a clue about music theory and song-writing.

If you don't think Michael Jackson was a musical genius, watch the DVD "This is It." And, keep in mind that he wrote all the music and lyrics to all the songs, wrote the dance choreography, and had it all memorized in his head enough to correct all the musicians who were trying to back him up.

I don't even particularly like most of Jackson's music, it's not a style that I like per se, but I have no problem acknowledging the guy was a musical genius - more-so than the others on the list, who's music style-wise I like a lot more.

Best singer: Elvis then Elton/Joel, then Jackson
Best Musician: Jackson, then Joel, then Elton, then Elvis
Best Dancer/Video Star: Jackson
Best Entertainer: Jackson
Best Overall: Jackson

Jackson was a decent songwriter in his own right. But he was also blessed with having the best musical arranger in the business, Quincy Jones. Take the stage dancing and Thriller videos away, and MJ was basically just another performer on stage. But I will somewhat amend my first statement. MJ was just as good of an entertainer as Elton John, stage theatrics and all. Although Alice Cooper still takes the cake of the best stage show that I've seen live..

elvis in last on the poll? i put him 1st by a wide margin, although it would depend on your criteria.

i go by impact on people's lives, millions of people from all over the world aren't going to visit billy joel, michael jackson, or elton john's house as a tourist attraction. especially considering graceland is in memphis in a crap area!

if anyone has siriusxm, put on elvis radio for a few days. you will hear dozens of terrific songs that you might have never heard before.

Billy Joel, because he is one ugly mf and still bagged Christie Brinkly. If that ain't talent, I don't know what is.

absolutely correct!!! You only hear the same handful of songs by Elvis on the am/fm , stations but Sirius plays all 900 of his songs! The guy could sing anything!! as someone stated above, and thats why he is the only performer that is included in ALL of the Halls of Fame.
