Over past 14 years I adopted a private personal attitude that any time I "lend" someone money (though it's only been less than a dozen times for a few hundred or less each) I am in fact "giving" them money.

Therefore I have no personal heat towards them when they don't repay me directly (which most have not). Instead, only they are the ones who must live with the "failure".

If he says he is good for it, then loan him the money. What could possibly go wrong?

I think you have been watching too many Movies, Nobody is getting shot
And if he doesn't have the Money, he should have Bet that High !!

I DO KNOW one damn thing.............. A debt of over $10,000 in Texas would AT LEAST garner a small house fire!

$30,000 and he would DEFINITELY have to pay a few hospital bills.

It sound to me like he is betting with a college aged bookie or something

I understand, but it doesnt take the MOB to hurt a family member and get away with it.

I am just thinking about some local bookies around where I live. They were NOT connected with Mafia or drugs at all, but somehow someone I knew did have a small house fire.

Certainly $15,000 would garner some sort of retaliation. He needs to be taught a lesson if he can pay his bookie within 1 month or so

try to talk some sense into your friend. sounds like the last thing he needs right now is a higher limit.

give him a dime tell him thats all you can spare right now and you won't have to worry about seeing him again.

Well, Nobody here is going to get beat up or they're House on fire !

Maybe in Texas they do it different. But here in New York, all they want is their Money...and something will be worked out.

If this guy is not your "very Best Friend", why are you even considering? You know my age, I've had many close friends, guys I'd go to war with. BUT, only one "Best Friend" and he'd never ask, but if he had I would. Most of us use the term "best" too loosly. Bob & my Bro the ONLY 2 I'd do it for!!!

Are you kidding me! 30 Dimes? If you lend that kind of money to a gambler, you can kiss it good bye!

Agree. You really have to ask this question. I loaned a coworker 2k about a year ago and I have not seen one dime. I told the dude just give me 10 bucks a week if that is all he could afford. He has since moved on and I'm out 2k. Never again.

Not considering Lending him the money ! I Will NOT lend Money for Gambling !
If it was for something else, like Rent, Food, something Important...that's a Different story.

Just going to talk to the people that he owes the Money to. And work out a Deal.
