Northern Iowa sports their 19-9 record and 44th RPI ranking into Wichita tonight in a make a break game for the Panthers.

A loss and they will be forced to win the MVC Tournament to earn a berth into the Big Dance.

A win and they wrap up 3rd place in the MVC and raise their RPI ranking a tad, which coupled with 1 or 2 MVC tourney wins, should enable them to earn a berth into the tourney in my estimation.

Thanks, however would not classify myself an avid fan of any college basketball team..........but I do like to keep close tabs on the four Iowa schools and cheer them all on...........IOWA, IOWA ST, DRAKE, and NORTHERN IOWA.

You are 1000x the ODU fan than I am of any of these teams.

PS- For the record......the BOSOX, PACKERS, and IOWA FOOTBALL are the teams most avid about...........with the BOSOX being far and away #1.

+6 here I think is very generous. I grade these two out almost dead even.

It seems that UNI is usually no bargain on the road.

Put it this way, as much as I am pulling for UNI, will be surprised if they can come away with a W in this spot.

Of course getting +6 puts a little bit of a different spin on things.

Grew up 30 miles north of FORT DODGE..........near West Bend.

From there to Iowa City for 6 years, then to Vegas for 17 years, and Tampa the last 3 years.

Though Wichita State is impressive at home, don't think they have covered alot of these numbers at home.

The experience Northern Iowa has in the tournament last year gives them a big leg up tonight, I would think.

My dad grew up in Palmer, IA. I am sure you know where that is. I think it is pretty close to Fort Dodge.

I have heard some pretty bad stuff about the Dodge lately though? Do you know what I am talking about? I have a buddy that goes to Iowa central and he says he is pretty much a minority.

Great basketball power.........they ended my HS basketball career in my senior year.

Fort Dodge is a rough city.........my nephew(poster STADIUM), operates and owns a bar there( THE STADUIM).

isnt it odd if you notice, out of 4 employees here, that are avid ncaabb fans, all 4 of our favorite teams seem to be on the preverbial bubble...

I would say Dante has the best shot with Pitt
followed by Ken with ODU, then Fish with N. Iowa, followed closely by me with IU.....

Just seems odd that out of the 4 of us, none of our favorite teams are a lock as of now....

Would be funny to see all 4 of us make it, as well...See who goes the farthest, might have to make a friendly wager on it, if we all get in
