It's the usual Pats formula and it's not surprising. The Pats have a monetary value on every player, every position and they do not over pay. Collins has a funny translation of "contract year", playing his worst as he gets closer to free agency. There have been injuries, poor play and a lackadaisical attitude. Combine that with a probable $100 million price tag in four months, along with the need to send a message to the defense , and we got ourselves a winner. Also, dude got beat twice to lose them the AFC championship last year and ain't been the same since.

If the Pats traded Brady to the Jets for a 7th rd pick Lombardi would probably say it was the right move, but I guess Collins just didn't wanna be there anymore if it was inevitable he wasn't gonna re-sign.

if Belichick made that hypothetical trade, it probably would be the right move, it means Jimmy is ready to take over :)

This Lombardi guy seems pretty smart to me :)

let me put it this way.
maybe he comes back next year but i will wager that jimmy g is not going anywhere.
jimmy g is the pats qb and he is a bigger priority then brady going forward.
if they can work it out where they both stay another season fine.

but if it comes down to 1 or the other that means brady will be playing for someone else next season.

that i will wager on

How Much ??

My bet is simply Jimmy G will not be traded to another team or go on the FA market.

Nobody wants to make this bet with me.

So my bet is simply JG not going anywhere.

I don't know the final outcome of Brady.
Maybe he retires at the end of the year.
If that were the case I could be correct and still lose the bet.

What I am saying is JG is not going anywhere .
Period.

If that means Brady playing for the Chicago Bears or Arizona Cardinals I have no idea.

Only thing in sure of is JG not going anywhere .

if TB retires, you would not lose the bet I proposed

I said TB will be the starting QB until he retires, he will not be traded and he won't play for another team

If TB plays for another team first or becomes JG's backup, you win
IF JG plays for another team first , I win

If TB retires first, push

You keep making the bet about TB when my bet is about JG.

We not even talking about the same subject.

Very simple .

JG will be the NE starting QB very soon .
.....

My statement has nothing to do with Brady .

I dont understand why this is so difficult for you guys to understand.
Nothing in that post contradicts any other thing I said.

I am not predicting TBs future I'm predicting JGs.

Its this simple JG is NOT going anywhere .

What that means for TB I'm not sure.

Is NE willling to pay JG 15 mill a season for 3 years to sit the bench? Who knows.

Does TB want to retire at the end of the season?
I have no idea .

But what I do know is if they have to pick one or the other and can't have both it's bye bye Brady
