Wait

You think Jackson is a top 5 qb but you can’t win a Super Bowl with him?
That's right. He's a top 5 regular season QB that can win MVP's and offensive player of the year awards during the regular season. Once he plays elite defenses, he folds like a paper airplane.

I'd rather have Allen than Lamar in the long term mainly because of Allen's size/durability.

But to me they are pretty close to each other, and there's a lot of similarities in their games. Similar accuracy levels from the pocket, both can throw the ball down the field and run. I think Allen reads coverage a little better, but Lamar better able to run
You've got to be shitting me. Allen is the prototypical NFL Super Bowl QB. Jackson is a great athlete playing QB.

"Prototypical Super Bowl QB"

But but but he's only 3-3 in the playoffs, and that's the only stat that matters ;)

Allen and Lamar's games are more similar than you may want to admit. Allen also has very medicore accuracy

Maybe I should just blindly argue that Josh Allen can't lead a team to a Super Bowl since he's never even made it there

Allen isn't the reason why Buffalo didn't beat the Chiefs last year and probably would've advanced to the SB... Lamar on the other hand , was the reason why the Ravens failed in the playoffs...
Did you watch those games ?

I'd take my chances with him over his career, especially over Lamar doing it.
I think Allen is more likely to mainly because of his division

Obviously you gotta win the playoff games but they'll be consistently in a better position to IMO

Divisions can change on a dime...So who knows .. Except when the AFC East was terrible for 20 years.

Yes, Josh Allen is a prototypical Super Bowl QB no matter what his record is. The QBs that have won Super Bowls throughout history have been in the same mold now for 50 years and it isn't changing anytime soon.

Why is this hard to understand?

That's what they said about the Chiefs too

My whole point is the argument is dumb. It's obvious that you can win a Super Bowl with Allen or Lamar
No team has ever won a Super Bowl with a guy like Lamar at QB so you're saying something can be done that we've never seen before. Now, obviously it will be done at some point but until I see it with my own two eyes, it's not happening.

How is Allen a prototypical QB?

What makes him special is his legs/size/physical style - far from prototypical.

He is an average pocket passer

What makes him special is his ability to make throws on the run and his huge arm. You saw it in the playoffs against the Chiefs. He made play after play for this team.

He played well against the Chiefs in the playoffs, no one disputes that.

It's also clear that he's a very inconsistent thrower. His numbers and the eye test both show this. That's been the case his entire career, and you're already starting to see it this season as well.
