Shit, I had a post about Aikman being difficult to rate and it didn't get posted. Anyway, he may be over rated somewhat, but nowhere near the most over rated.

very difficult to accurately rate him due to the nature of those teams. He wasn't asked to do as much as other QBs but his numbers and success between 92 and 97 (other than TDs and TD/INT ratio) were VERY good and he was a VERY accurate passer (61+% for his career and over 63.5% during those 6 years). Emmitt snaked a lot of his TDs making his TD and TD/INT numbers worse than they should have been.

He also would have had 3 more 3000+ seasons had he not been hurt so often. QB Rating isn't the best indication of the quality of a QB.

To wit, see #5, 7, 8, 17, 23, 24, 29, 32, , 39, 43 and 49.

When did Vick have a good arm???? If you mean he threw the ball way to hard for his receivers to catch and completely inaccurate then sure

Vick had a great arm, doesn't mean he could throw the ball well. He has a cannon and can throw 70+ yards easily. A lot of guys have great arms but stink. Kyle Boller may have the best arm in the NFL but he blows.

my point exactly...just because you can throw the ball a mile doesnt translate into a good qb

I'm not saying Aikman was bad its just most people rank him as a top 5-7 QB in history and I don't see it. There is atleast 3 guys playing right now that blow Aikman away IMO.

well, if someone puts him 5-7 then yeah, that would make him very over rated. But I doubt I would put him much below 15 if at all below it.

jj said black quarterbacks cant throw. you countered that vick has a great arm. I would take that to mean he is a great passer or otherwise whats the point? what good does a great arm do if you are inaccurate?

you're wasting my time. i broke things down very specifically in my reply to jj. move on, you're not making any points. you're not arguing with anyone. many people have said jeff george has a great arm. jeff george does have a great arm. no one has called jeff george a great passer. jeff george is not a great passer.

A Back QB cannot control the ball as it sails high most of the time.

Is that scientifically proven or just b/c they have too much fried chicken grease and watermelon juice on their hands? or, maybe it is the stuff they use for their jeri curls? Good lord you can't really believe this.

Kerry Collins is the best passer on that team, just Matt Schaub was the best on the Falcons!

Kerry Collins as a passer is 3 levels highr than Vince Young!

Young is stoopid!

so what. steve kerr was the best shooter on the bulls and not jordan. what does this really mean? collins sucked last season and the rest of the team looked bad because of it. he gets benched and young comes out and plays for the exact team collins played with and wins and they look like a pretty good team. (think they have won 11 out of last 14 or something not sure). so being a good passer isnt everything. young is definitely not overrated. if he was he would have won the heisman. since hes started playing football he has shown that he wins games and wins big games at that. hes mobile, tough, coachable, a leader, and a smart qb. is he a perfect passer? no but when you do everything else well you dont have to be. Look at carson palmer. he may throw the best football in the game but what is he doing with his career besides letting the years go by while he puts up some tds. he has all the weapons you can ask but hes not consistantly winning and hes been in the league for a while now.

give young more weapons, give him some time and his passing will improve but ultimately hes a winner and thats all anyone can ask. unless your asking this from a fantasy sports players point of view.
