I watched Warren Moon play for years here in Houston. He was a damn fine passer. In fact, the whole offense was built around the QB's ability to throw the ball.

vick and culp have had two of the best arms in the league over the last 6 years or so. if you're talking stricktly about numbers then you would probably be disappointed to know that garrard is 4th in the nfl in passer rating. if you strictly mean winning, then heres a stat you'll enjoy, a higher percentage of black Qbs, that have started in the nfl, have won the SB than the percentage of white qbs that have started in the nfl.

As was Culpepper.

By far the most overrated QB EVER to play the game is Brett (triple coverage) Favre.

well, thats not true. Joe namath takes that award by a decent margin.

That's just as ridiculous as saying blacks can't be QB's. Why is he overrated? I believe people think this because the announcers continually blow him on air. If you never heard of the man before and just looked at his stats when his career ended I believe you wouldn't think of him as overrated.

sharpest post in months. Dude's numbers are atrocious and only 3 times in 9 full seasons did his team finish above .500. Only twice did he have more TDs than INTs and only 3 or 4 times was his comp % > 50%, was a 50.1% passer for his career and threw ~50 more INT than TD.

prior to answering the question is he OVER rated, we need to determine where he is rated at.

SO I'll ask, of the starting QB's in the NFL, where is Vince rated?

Once we get a # there, I can answer the question.

This is exactly how he is overrated. Because the media would have you believe that he is one of the better QB's in the NFL. Just like they would have you believe that Eli is horrible. But in reality Young is probably in the bottom 3rd of NFL QB's and Eli is probably #8 or #9. As strictly a QB I would rank Yound probably around #20-#25 in the NFL. Right around guys like Huard and Harrington. Tenn is as good as they are because they have a good defense not because of Young

Yes, exactly. That is what makes someone overrated. I didn't say he completely sucks - he doesn't. But he makes more bad passes in key situations than any QB I've ever seen in my life. Including Dan Fouts, who is also in the overrated Hall of Fame.

I will go with Troy Aikman here. Dude isn't near the top in any passing catergory. He's all time rank is 50th in TD passes. 22nd in yards. He never had good QB ratings. His carrer QB rating is a 81.6. Never even once had 4000 passing yards in a season. and only 5 of his 12 season did he throw for over 3000 yards. He was an average QB on great teams and gets all the pub because his team won 3 rings.

Yes, and you take away the FIXED Super Bowl and he's just another old drunk who used to get yelled at by Bear Bryant.

79.9

He did throw almost twice the TD passes as Aikman though, but I Always thought he was a bit overhyed as well. Put Peyton's number up next to either of them and you'll be shocked. Peyton has thrown about 130 more TD passes than Aikman did and Peyton has played in 12 less games so far.

When did Vick have a good arm???? If you mean he threw the ball way to hard for his receivers to catch and completely inaccurate then sure
