Is this the craziest ending to any game ever?

Bullshit dude. I dont have any vested interest in this game, but Tate wasn't even close to having possession of that ball.

+1

Jennings made the interception, than Tate tried to take away ball.

Refs made 4 severely blatant errors in the last 5 minutes all in favor of Seattle.

1. Ruffing passer on a G.B interception. Game over!
2. Pass interference on 2nd and 35, clearly offensive interference
3. Blatant offensive interference on last play, not call.
4. Ball intercepted on last play but call a reception.

I was on the wrong side once again. Jesus fukin Moses!

Can you have FULL possession while in the air??
If Jennings loses control and comes down boggling the ball....then its a simultaneous catch???

is there any chance it was an INT and then possession moved from jennings to tate (50/50) so that it became a TD?

and INT in the endzone doesn't end play until you are down....a TD ends if you have possession at any point

It look like INT to me, was playing devils advocate but this is along the lines of what I was thinking

Do you think the regular refs would of struggled with this call? I do.

I think they would have handled it way better... but they win by not being there...

I still don't know what to think....

FWIW, I remember a game several years back with a similar play in that it looked like the ball was intercepted but because the offensive rcvr was able to snake both hands onto the ball as they hit the ground it was ruled 'simultaneous posession' = hence ball belongs to offense. Does not look fair but I think that was correct call technically. But if they are playing that game in GB, they overturn and say INT.

The original refs would have probably called offensive interference!

i agree int....but i didn't see when the defender was "down"....cause if tate sneaked his hands for 50/50 possession before down then I can see an argument for TD

Read the rule I posted on the first page of this thread:
---------
"Item 5: Simultaneous Catch. If a pass is caught simultaneously by two eligible opponents, and both players
retain it, the ball belongs to the passers. It is not a simultaneous catch if a player gains control first and an opponent subsequently gains joint control."
---------
Jennings had control first, even if he didn't hit the ground to complete the catch. The completion of the catch only determines whether it was completed, not possession.

I wonder why the G,B. player didn't fight harder to keep possession. He had the position to rip the ball away from Tate. My opinion is he was way to passive in the catfight.
