BTW people, the real reason for not having PMs has nothing to do with touts.

Wil and the site owners use that as the reason because its convenent.

There are at least 3 other reasons MORE important to the site owners than tout spam.

#1) links to other sites directing people to the competition.
Someone like ROXYGIRL would have had a field day with PMs back when he was starting his own forum.

#2) referal bonuses from one member to another.
This is the real reason.
Instead of posters clicking the links to sign up where the RX gets a % of your loses, posters would sign up with other posters getting referal bonuses. This would be a huge $$$$ loss to the RX.
The reason EOG allows PMs is because they charge the sportsbooks a flat monthly fee to advertise at there forum. So they get no % of loses from the players. So they really dont care about the referal bonus thing like the rx does.

#3) less post, and less traffic equals less money.

PM's would also give me the opportunity to spam PM "YANKEES SUCK" over and over to 10 random Yankee fans until their box is full each day for a solid week. And I could PM Doberman KADY MALLOY RULES for a week.

Then see who has the biggest meltdown towards me over it and hand them the $50 contest prize. They wouldnt have even known it was a contest. Theirs always opportunities for entertainment here at the RX, you just have to be creative.

I think wilheim just reached for the aspirin bottle. :Carcajada:

I would love to hear 2 "good" reasons why the RX does not have PM or a chat function and who makes this decision?

I have reason to believe I know one of the answers and it's complete BS. I get flooded with BS emails and guess what? I click delete, it's as simple as that. But, that's coming from a "Sidewalk Lieutenant" take it for what it's worth.

PS, Mr Smith has been around here way to much.

the PM feature needs to arrive.

we are all responsible enough, and should be smart enough, to avoid any spammers/scammers that try to PM us. if i see spam/scam messages, i will gladly take the 1second to click delete.

its highly sought by the entire forum body makes no sense

Agree, PM would be nice. If we start getting spammed all over you can pull the plug on it quickly and easily. Seems like a no lose resolution.

The service play section guy's would love the PM feature as they could share buying some losers play and share them via the PM.

Then when another financial deal goes bad amongst two posters we will have more drama to read.

More importantly, now that the bash is over, what is the status of the "discussions" regarding PM ? Is there an ETA ? Or date when a final decision is expected?

Thanks.
