The Confused World of Avocado:

"Joe Burrow is an elite HOF QB!" (better than Mahomes, Allen, Brady etc.)

"Joe Flacco is NOT an elite HOF QB"

And yet... Flacco is matching (I would argue outperforming) Burrow’s production - in the same Bengals system that's supposedly so complex and reliant on "elite" QB play. "Elite", meaning we gotta pay him 60M! Gentlemen, that's the very definition of PLUG-AND-PLAY and been my consistent unwavering position on QBs like Burrow for years.

If your "franchise QB" can be swapped out for a 40-year-old vet on a $1.8M contract with equal or better results, that QB is not elite - he's replaceable.

Dropping 42 points and STILL losing because you can’t afford a competent defense? That’s not just irony - that’s cap-hell comedy gold.
Again, show me where I made the bolded statements. Your analysis of the Bengals is so obtuse

Joe Burrow is definitely a Hall of Fame talent. I wouldn't put him in the Hall of Fame because of his durability to this point, but he absolutely has a path there. That's not the same thing as saying he's better than Tom Brady (the GOAT).

Burrow has proven he's an elite quarterback -- something Flacco has never been in this league. You are pretty much splitting hairs when you compare Burrow to other top quarterbacks in the league (Mahomes, Allen, Lamar). They are all elite quarterbacks with different strengths, and no GM is trading any of those players.

I commend Flacco for how he's playing so far -- it's been fun to watch. But I think it's pretty far-fetched to thing he's going to play a full season at an MVP level -- he never has, let alone will he at age 40. Burrow has multiple times.

Can't afford a competent defense? The defensive struggles has nothing to do with money. You keep ignoring that fact. They had the 4th most expensive defense last season, and still were bad.

Their defense sucks because they can't draft defensive talent for shit, their "GM" sucks, their coaches suck, and their ownership sucks. They haven't drafted a Pro Bowl defensive player since Geno Atkins in 2010......that's insane.

The TRAGIC Year of Joe Burrow 2024-25

LOST
Game 1: 10 pts vs Pats (TEN?!?! Can't blame the D on that one. What a joke!) 😂
LOST Game 2: 25 pts vs Chiefs (NOT "elite" standards)
LOST Game 3: 33 pts vs Redskins (improved O output, but outplayed by last year's flavor-of-the-year, J. Daniels)

Burrow now 0-3 - Avo unhinged blaming everything and everyone, including the Bengals mascot. Anyone except his 🤡"HOF FRANCHISE QB" 🤡

Moving on..

WON Game 4: 34 pts vs Carolina (bottom feeder but "Burrow got it done")
LOST Game 5: 39 pts vs Ravens (typical Bengals D laugher - NOT the QB's fault!!!)
WON Game 6: 17 pts vs Giants (Only 17??? "But he won! Gamer!")
WON Game 7: 21 pts vs Browns (Low O output but at least he didn't lose, as per usual)
LOST Game 8: 17pts vs Eagles (Again, only 17 pts? I thought the kid was "elite"? :poop:)
WON Game 9: 41 pts vs Vegas (Beautiful stat padder - Avo can say, "See, he's better than...!")
LOST Game 10: 34 pts vs Ravens (decent O performance, another typical Bengals D implosion)
LOST Game 11: 27 pts vs Chargers (6 pts in the first half :poop: BUT..."Burrow was sensational in the 2nd half with that heroic comeback that just fell short!!" :rofl2:)
LOST Game 12: 38 pts vs Steelers ("Not Burrow's fault, the D just sucks!")
WON Game 13: 27 pts vs Cowboys (nailbiter - last second costly turnover cost the Cowgirls)
WON Game 14: 37 pts vs Titans (Another stat padder - Joey has a tantrum on the sidelines because "we played like shit!" What a leader!)
WON Game 15: 24 pts vs Browns (Wow! 2-0 against the Browns? Unheard of for JoeyB!)
WON Game 16: 30pts vs Broncos ("Joe did you see Burrow today?? Allen could never make that play!!")
WON Game 17: 19 pts vs Steelers (Steelers home and cooled out, Joey wins a low-scoring squeaker)

Annnnnnnnnddd....the Bengals miss the playoffs!!

But barely, Joe! Barely!!! Imagine if they didn't have Burrow!!

Oh, but the excuses were even better!

Lose with low points? "He had no help!"
Lose with high points? "Defense collapsed!"
Win ugly? "He just knows how to win!"
Stat-pad in garbage time? "Elite numbers, bro!"

:an_laugh:"Franchise QB!!!" :duh: 🤦‍♂️ :rofl2:

Avo, you're the best! :ROFLMAO:

Here is why I would say Flacco is above Rivers if I am voting for the hall.

In the playoffs, Flacco has 26 TDs and 12 INTs, had back to back playoff games where he threw 3 TD's and no INTs and has a Super Bowl trophy and MVP.

Rivers in the playoffs, 16 TDs, 10 INTs and he had only 1 AFC Championship game appearance and he was horrendous (19/37 2 INTs).

Rivers also had LaDainian Tomlinson (NFL MVP), Antonio Gates (HoF), and a solid Vincent Jackson which makes him look worse.

Looking at both of them, I wouldn't vote for either. I'm not bothering with Matt Ryan. The idea he should be in the HoF is silly to me.

Imagine making sweeping conclusions after a 3 game sample size against bad defenses lol

The playoff blackmark on Rivers' resume is bad. He has no real signature wins where he dominated.

His best statistical performance was beating the Colts in the divisional round where he went 14/19 with 3TDs and they won 28-24. That's pretty weak.

Take notes, Tua/Burrow/Hurts owners: draft cheap or sign a proven vet for a fraction of the cost, get 85% of the output, spend the rest on actual roster depth = WINNERS.

Hurts did outplay Patty in 2 SuperBowls head-to-head.

Yeah, that Rivers playoff record is brutal for HOF consideration.

Had to be the weather, right?

A warm-weather team flying cross-country to play in January against an AFC North or East opponent is almost always doomed. I still remember one of those so-called "close" matchups - at least according to the line - where Rivers got absolutely demolished at Foxboro. No spark, no life, just frozen out from the opening drive.

It’s exactly why I never take the Chargers or Dolphins seriously. All that early-season hype melts away the moment they have to breathe that icy January air in Buffalo or Baltimore when it actually matters.

Hurts seems to have a very wide spectrum out of outcomes. He can totally suck in a way Mahomes, etc can’t but also play like he did in those games

He’s hard to judge for me

Joe Flacco without Chase and Higgins vs Joe Flacco with Chase and Higgins

JoeyF is climbing Nick Wrong’s "Mahomes Mountain" and looks destined to finish top tier by season’s end. 🔥🔥🔥

Honestly, I think Avocado could QB this PLUG-AND-PLAY Bengals offense.

No wonder JoeyB BEGGED management to keep Chase and Tee - "skin-crawling" weirdo basically a "system QB" piggybacking off HOF receivers.

Soon Avo’s gonna have to pick a lane: Either Joe Flacco is HOF with these MVP numbers… or Joe Burrow is overpaid, overrated… straight-up trash.

Yes, Joe Flacco is a gamer and belongs in the Hall of Fame.

Mahomes sucked in two Super Bowls against TB and Philly. Flacco may be the best with Higgins and Chase but the worst in Cleveland. Mahomes was the best with Hill and Kelce but has just been a very good QB the last 3 years or so. Allen has been king for a while now.

I cannot wait for Travis Kelce - Mahomes' emotional support tight end - to finally retire so we can all witness the great regression of Patrick "Russell Wilson 2.0" Mahomes.

Just like Glass Joey's been riding Ja'Marr and Tee like training wheels and Avo calling it "elite quarterbacking" 😂

Joe Burrow is returning to practice today in limited capacity, activating the 21-day window to return to the active roster from IR. Burrow will speak to the media today for the first time since the injury.
