If you feel the child support expenses are not being legitimately spent on your child's welfare, then I believe you can request an accounting of the same in court.
If you feel you are paying 100% of the cost, then get remarried and sue for full custody based on the premise that you and your new wife (she will be a stay at home) would provide a more stable life and support system (unless she already did that to you).

i feel for you j-man. dealing with child support sucks. interesting the different
views on this thread. but i wonder how many responding, especially those critical of your position, have ever been in the position? the one thing i've learned in my years on this dirt, is so many so-called "experts", have never been in the position. by the way, i was paying for a daughter and a son for eight years after my divorce. still kept paying for ten months after my daughter turned 18 (which i didn't have to do, but did because she was still living with her mother), but when the dauther moved out, i went to my lawyer to get the payment reduced to just one child. guess what? the mother took me to court and the payment actually increased!! by the way, i was never late in payments, i pay for their health insurance and half of non-covered medical expenses or things like glasses or contacts. but my kids love me and that is what counts.

Some states are starting to recognize this injustice and readjust the child support based an estimate of total time spent with the custodial parent in a year span. Therefore, what you are seeing in some of those states are women refusing to allow the other parent to see or spend time with the child(ren) especially if no vistation order exist because it cuts into their "cash cow" they receive every month. Check into it J-man, Maryland may have adopted this new provision by now if they are with the times. Good luck.
