This is a tough thread.

We have ak who seems to have strong opinions about everything but knows very little. Then we have Chop who everytime he talks up a player (Francour, Heyward, Bruce) their career turns into a huge disappointment or the team he touts (Saints, Braves) lays an egg that season :)

Anthony Davis seems on track to be the next superstar, he has all the pedigree from high school to college and now the pros. He has the athelatic ability and skills to be the next Tim Duncan. That being said he needs to start winning within the next couple years to be on his way, we'll see.

Davis should be a superstar but probably will never be "THE SUPERSTAR" of the NBA. It is tough to be that guy as a power foward, flashier wing type players tend to be the main attraction ala, Jordan, Kobe, Lebron. Big guys like Duncan, Olajuwon etc tend to get less star power even if they are just as good.

I take offense to this! But yes, only crazy people would talk about Pelicans not trading Davis for Lebron.

This opinion sums him up completely.

I'd take Olajuwon all day every day over AD.

He played great! But not Lebron great. I'm not arguing that Davis isn't a stud. I think he's tied for the 2nd best player in the NBA. He's just not Lebron caliber.

AD is good but he is not KD good. Stop.

he had just as good a game as Lebron - 4 steals, 3 blocks and no turnovers

Yes, Lebron is a better player right now - thanks for letting us know that

I didn't think you guys knew that considering you wouldn't trade Anthony Davis straight up for him. Probably the dumbest comment I have heard here since people said the NBA couldn't take the Clippers from Sterling.

Dude. Despite the back and forth and your childish ways I have always considered you at least somewhat intelligent.
Why cant you grasp what im saying?

Just because I say the Pelicans would not trade AD for LJ does not mean I think AD is a better player then LJ right now.

So all this cheerleading you are doing for lebron is pointless in this thread.

I think anyone would tell you im probably the biggest cheerleader on this whole forum for Lebron.

I even think he is better then Jordan.
Yes I just said that.
Thats about the 100th time I have said that actually.

But with all that said I still dont think New Orleans would trade AD for LJ

Psycho talk. Benson would chop off his left nut and give AD to the Cavs for Lebron.

Has Anthony Davis ever played a full season? I love his game, but like Barman said - people have hyped up players all the time at a young age and then they dont pan out. I hate Lebron but we all know that he will most likely take your team to the finals. I would take Lebron next 4 years over AD - you also don't know if AD stays in New ORleans for 10 years so making that argument has flaws.....but who cares - you guys are arguing about a hypothetical situation that will never occur

shouldn't AD be required to lead a team to at least a 500 record and maybe make the playoffs 1 time before he's anointed?

I mean c'mon man

he's done NOTHING yet, it's all hype at this point

he's the leading scorer on a 500 team, let's say he's the best player in the game

okie dokie
