i get a lot of feelings during games, but the weirdest was years ago when my old man phoned me asking about a raiders/broncos game and i told him it's was already played and the broncos won xx to xx. I never thought anything of it until the next day when the game was actually played and i had predicted the score. it's been years and i can't get it out of my head. another good one was my old man telling me about how he was wiped out at santa anita, just staring at the program. he rubs his eyes, and an eyelash falls down and makes a perfect circle around one of the numbers in the program. he put the rest of his cash on that one to win and it comes through like a $30 horse......HF

This year - I was going thru a terrible run of luck at the time but handicapped a horse to be a 5/2 chance. To my surprise he drifted out to 11/2 on suspicions the going was against him but his action, breeding suggested he'd improve for soft ground.

I bet 800 GB pounds on @ 11/2 and watching the race I knew In was going to lose - something deep inside told me so.

The race panned out as follows: - 3 mile hurdle race - My horse held up last jumping well. With a circuit to go my one moves up into 4th, 10 lenghts behind the leaders going very well. 3 hurdles out the writing was on the wall - everything else flat to the boards - mine is cruising a length behind the leaders. Jumping the third last the jockey took the handbrake off and the horse quickened in a matter of strides 8 lengths clear - powering away - yet I knew deep inside i was going to lose - the exchanges were betting mine at 1.02 ie -5000.

Sure enough my sixth sense was spot on - jumping the second last - the horse clipped the top (hurdles are very small obstacles and horses rarely fall on them) and the jockey fell off.
Many times I have known I was going to lose and win as well - being analytical and logical i try and not heed this feeling but I do adjust my handicapping accordingly. EG - If I handicap a horse to have a 3/1 chance but get the sixth sense he will win - i will adjust that to say 5/2 and hence have a larger bet using the kelly criterion system.

Yeah sometimes I will have parlays wagers, round robins, and such, and i will be looking them over, and thinking, wow this early game is my "key" game, cuz i have it with a late game that i am "sure" will cover.....and I am thinking i have to win this one, cuz the late game is a lock, and lots of times the late game is right, but the early one lost..

Well, if i was SO SURE of the late game, and had no doubt it would cover, why bother with the parlay, put it all on the late game...

GRRR

I have issues..

I'm negative as hell when it comes to betting, I know it has no bearing on the game but don't want to hear anyone talk about my plays. Someone tells me it's a sure win then I am almost 100% good at losing. Nothing pisses me off more then someone telling me "you can already bank that ticket". Yeah I can bank it alright, right up the old gazoo.

Still recall the ex telling me, no way can you lose that bet! It was Ole Miss and Arkansas I think, score was 17-10 with less then 2 minutes left and I have U55-. "Even if they score and tie it there's no physical way you can lose even if it goes in OT". Of course she mixed up NFL with NCAA OT, I left the room at 54-54 and they were still playing. Another game I am I getting +11- in a college hoop game. I am WINNING the game by 5 with less than 12 seconds. My buddy says let's go, I'll eat my hat if you lose this one! They come down and score, steal the inbounds and they foul him as the shot goes down. A 3 point play the old fashioned way to tie it up. My team misses their last possession and then loses by 12 in overtime!!

This is just one of my mental issues. I can say that I feel like I have won many more bets by not watching the event than watching. I, also, do not like the phone calls or a visitor as they tend to jinx me.
