Seems like Red Sox fans make a bigger deal out of things that happen than yankees fans..it seems like if there was an argument between these to clubs' fans, a yankee fan can walk away in a split second thinking "we've owned you for 90 years", while a red sox fan will just sit and whine about every little thing..red sox must be tied with the cubs as to having the most passionate fan base in the country..

As for the jealousy issue, isn't it something like 27 to 2 in terms of world series rings?..i think you'd at least have to get to double digits before a yankees fan can talk about jealousy..also, didn't the yankees win 3 in a row in the 90's?..if winning 2 in a span of 3 or 4 years is dominance, what does that make winning 3?BTW, i'm not a yankees fan...

Yankees are having tough times. WHO CARES?

I can't stand Major League Baseball. Any league that continues to allow a few teams to maintain a clear and decisive personnel advantage over its smaller market franchises based on local cable market size is not worthy of my interest.

Red Sox, Yankees, Mets, Tigers, White Sox, Angels and Dodgers fans can deny it all they want, but the stats have proven that significantly higher payroll teams have comprised the majority of the playoffs over the last 20 years. If you believe that a cartel of only those teams which can secure large LOCAL television deals deserves such an ongoing on-field advantage, then hold on to the delusion that your team can be a champion over 31 legitimate competitors.

The luxury tax was pure window-dressing. It was a sellout in order to secure the most recent CBA. All it did was merely shrink the size of the cartel.

In reality, franchises like the Yankees and Red Sox win year after year by playing with a loaded deck while they ignore just how incredibly corrupt the MLB system has become!

just nice to see the tables turned. And as far as the money thats where collective bargaining comes in to play. Small market teams are getting bargaining checks bigger then their payroll. Wheres the money going? Bostons farm system is very strong as well. They are just a complete organization from epstein on down.

ARZ, ANA, FLA, CHW, STL

All is good in The Great Game and since neither they NYY or BOS will win it all this season, we should be able to add to the above list by late October

And fwiw, as someone who lives in "South NY/BOS" here in Tampa Bay area, I can state with full confidence that RedSoxFan is far more annoying and difficult to digest in most sports social situations than is YankeeFan.

Thankfully, FISHHEAD himself in person is a pretty cool guy

And he certainly doesn't hurt his presentation by having BILLSFAN in tow more nights than not.

Will add that in the previous 11 seasons, we've also seen these teams make the Fall Classic - NYM, ATL, SF, DET, HOU, SD, CLE

That's 14 teams who have made the World Series in just 11 years. Forget all that yap about MLB belonging to only a short list of teams.

All I know is that right now, Yankee fans are a very unhappy group and filled with hatred.............it's going to be great going to Tropicana Field with the Barman when the Yanks come to town..........it is so fun to mingle with the Yankee fans and I relish my battles with them.......battles I never start.

That's just insane. The disparity shows up within a year after a lower salary team becomes a WS contender. Yankees, Red Sox, etc. buy away the talent from these franchises with less resources. You don't need to go too far down their line-ups to document this fact. Also, the margin of error for small market franchises' farm systems is a fraction of the large market cartel.

Do you really believe these perennial low salary teams would not pay to keep their talent if they could? Just look at the disparity in payroll size between the upper and lower tiered salary teams:
