Managed to get Harrahs down to 303 a night instead of 386 a night and 429 a night on weekends to take me to $1900 or so for my stay. I could probably get some room comps too with my blackjack play after the fact. Didn't book it though, still looking everything over.

I'm going to call Harrahs and talk to a host and see if I can get lucky, do harrahs even have "casino rates" anymore since they are so corporate?

Called the Hilton cuz the harrahs lady said something about them having WSOP rate. Hilton was booked but they had WSOP rooms blocked off at $95 a night. weeeeeee

Hotel Monteleone is an excellent one and Very close by to Harrahs. There is also a Ritz Carlton on Canal, but thats a bit furthur down... Did you cross the Cornstalk mansion off?

Chop...beware of the single table satelittes.
Last year the 1's i played, ok the 2 i played..lol Were 200 starting chips with 5 min levels and the 1st level was 25/50. meaning they take no more than 20 mins to complete and the winner is the guy who goes all-in everytime and gets lucky...they are basically a lottery.

I highly advise the Gumbo Shop on st Peter st in the quarter right by jackson square.

Of course Oceana and Coops place are both excellent.

got in today, walked around, ate at Cajun Cabin, pretty good...

Man do they love their daquaris here, every bar has tons of different kinds. And tons of strip clubs on bourbon street wasnt expecting that. And what is with the "Love Acts" place World Famous Men and Women across from Cajun Cabing?
