This should serve as a VERY STRONG WARNING to any current or future customers of Gibraltor sportsbook. If you play here, do so only if you are a LOSER. They don't like people that win. Their MO is to lure you in with a "bait and switch" type bonus then to throw you out (sans bonus) when you win.

I was recently solicited by Gibraltor to open up an account in order to receive a "25% bonus". Again, Gibraltor solicited me, not the other way around. Of course, I decided to find out for myself all the "details" of this bonus. Below is the text of the chat that I had with Gibraltor:

Please wait for a site operator to respond.
You are now chatting with 'Samantha'
you: I got an e mail for a 25% march madness bonus. I am not a member here
Samantha: Welcome to Gibraltar Sports. How may I help you?
you: tell me about this bonus
Samantha: one second please
Samantha: well sir, if you send $300 wwe will cover the fees (if any) and the bonus will be given as a freeplay.
Samantha: If you send $500 we will also cover the fess as cash in the account and the bomus will be 10% cash ans 15% freeplay
you: e mail says 25% bonus (nothing about a "freeplay"
Samantha: We now, but when the customers contact us we let them now what the deal is.
you: hmm. that is like a "bait and switch"
you: not sure I want to sign up uder those conditions
Samantha: If you are interested on something different you can let me know, and i'll try to get you something different.
Samantha: This depends on the amount that you are sending!
you: 25% cash bonus as your e mail says. then I will sign up and open an account here
you: sending $2K or so
Samantha: Let me see what I cand do
Samantha: How about 15% cash and 10% freeplay, plus the transffer fees as cash in the account for $2K
you: how about 20% cash bonus?
you: plus any transfer fees
you: I am usign neteller (not instant cash feature)
Samantha: If you send those $2k it's a deal!
you: I will open my account with $2.5K if you provide 20% bonus
you: =$3K in the account
Samantha: What you can do is call our customer service department and ask for a sales clerk.
Samantha: Yes
Samantha: I'll give that bonus.
you: to open the account, I am required to make a deposit at the same time. So how do I do this
Samantha: All you have to do is call 800-400-7625 and ask for Laura
you: right now or after I make a deposit and open the account?
Samantha: She will help you
you: ok I will give her a call now
you: before I do this... is there any rules requirements that I should be aware of
Samantha: One second please
Samantha: There is only one policy
Samantha: Ib order for you not to loose your bonuses you must keep the INITIAL DEPOSIT +FEES and BONUSES in the account for a period of 30 days and roll them over 3 times.
Samantha: You can request your winnings at any time.
you: That should not be a problem at all
you: so should I call Laura now
Samantha: It really is'nt
Samantha: Yes, go right ahead.
you: ok thanks for your help...hope I win!
Samantha: Just tell her that you spoke to Samantha over the chat, and she'll know what to do.
Samantha: Good luck and have a nice evening

As you can see, I was promised a 20% cash bonus for a $2500 deposit. The requirements being that I rolled the money over 3X ($2500+$500 = $3000 *3 = $9000 rollover).

I was lucky enough to have run my account up to $6900 by Friday, 3/26. All of my bets were legitimate bets, with fair lines. I am a big better and bet dimes mostly. I usually win at some books and I lose at others.

On Friday, 3/26, I attempted to sign on to my account. when I did, I received a message informing me that my wagering was suspended. Very puzzling indeed. So, I went back onto chat and was told to call "Erik" the manager. The manager informed me that they no longer wanted me as a customer. When I asked why, he told me that he had a right to refuse service to any customer that he wanted. He did not need a reason. I asked him if I did anything wrong. He said "NO". Further, he assured me that he would pay me my FULL balance of $6900 on Monday, as the payout department was now closed. I told him I did not like getting the boot, simply because I was a winner. His response again was that he fully intended to pay me in full, but he did not want me as a customer and that my account was now closed. I told him that so long as he paid me in full, I would be ok with this.

Well, on Monday I called to get my payout and was told that the payout department was only open from 9-1 EST. I needed to call back.

Today, Tuesday, I called during their "payout hours" and was told to hold. This hold went on for quite a while. Finally, I was told there would be 1) a $45 fee to withdrawal my funds and 2) They would strip out the $500 bonus. I asked to speak to a manager. I infomred the person on the phone (Jake), that I was assured I would receive my ENTIRE balance, including bonus. I objected to them now deciding to retroactively removing a bonus. Moreover, they decided to close my account not me...I had full intention to continue playing here. And, per my calculations I was within $1000 (one bet) of meeting their wageing requirements. Their closing my account is the reason I could not meet COMPLETELY the "wagering requirements". In any case, removing the ENTIRE bonus does not seem reasonable. He told me too bad, I did not meet wagering requiremnts, and they dont want me as a customer. I infomred this gentleman that I did not agree with his policy and did not think other books would treat customers like this. If he did not want me as a customer, then give me ALL my money and I will be on my way. I told him that I planned to inform others as they had a right to know, by posting my experience on some well-known sites. To this he replied... "Do whatever the F*ck you like. I really don't give a Sh*t what you do".

I have received my balance from Gibraltor minus a $45 fee and the $500 bonus. All I am doing now is posting the facts of what happened. I will leave it to others to decide if this is the type of customer service and treatment that they would consider acceptable.

Total fukk job, if things are as you say they are.

BHB pulled similar stunts in the past, but at least they had the decency to pay out a portion of the bonus, pro-rated to the % of the rollover that was satisfied.

Dante:

He didn't make any significant money to speak of. This is from his first post:

" I usually win at some books and I lose at others."

He's a scalper.

Halifax,

You interpreted that statement incorrectly.

I am NOT a scalper. I rarely play both sides of the same game. The reason I win at some books and lose at others is because of the SIZE of my bet. A small streak is all it takes to put me up/down big. I don't have the time nor patience to scalp.

What the morons at Gibraltor don't seem to realize is that I would have probably given it all back (and then some)

sounds like another scared book getting rid of winners right before baseball season. BUT ive seen surer slam dunks than this bounce off the back of the rim when the other side is told. i seriously doubt they will reply with anything other than a ghost but ill withhold calling them a shitbook and urging a run on all 25 accounts they have for at least a day or so.

you may want to post your story at madjacks and johnny detroit as well as i think they advertise at those.

Sounds like they are fukking you pretty bad. Any reputable sites that advertise for this book?

If so I would hope they might be able to mediate for you.

No offense to TK, but it's impossible for the posters to make a fair judgement before hearing BOTH sides of the story.

The BSkiller & Areef stories once sounded convincing too

Madjacks is a very large forum where Gibraltar is an advertiser. Mad Jack is the owner and he might be able to help you out. I have a page where I give free picks on that site, but I am not an employee.

I have to ask if you were playing steam at all. I know a lot of square books like Gibraltar have policies of not rewarding "professional" players with bonuses and perhaps playing steam might brand you as a professional in their eyes.

Sorry no links, I am sure TK can find madjacks with out a link. MD - I do appreciate your offer to help. Wil.

Lander,

I agree, there usually is another side to the story. But for Gibraltors sake it better not be "TK is a bonus whore..yada yada yada"
They are the ones making the unsolicited bonus offers to the players. If that isn't enough then the chat posted above pretty much shouts " I'm a bonus whore, lets make a deal for my deposit." The book then made the deal, they have no right to reneg. They knew what they were getting and if they didn't they should learn from their mistakes and pay.
