Jack’s Free Pick Friday: Oregon State +19.5
I expect the Oregon State Beavers to be more motivated in this ‘Civil War’ rivalry game Saturday than the Oregon Ducks will be. The Ducks are out of contention for the Pac-12 title and certainly have not been playing their best football. I don’t expect that to change here Saturday.
In fact, the Ducks have been outgained in five of their last six games overall coming in. The only exception was the 31-29 win as 3-point home favorites against Arizona State last week. With the way they are playing right now, it’s very hard to ask Oregon to win this game by 3-plus touchdowns to beat us.
Oregon State has not given in, and that has showed in recent weeks. The Beavers erased a big deficit to come from behind to win 41-34 (OT) as 24.5-point dogs at Colorado. And last week they went on the road and only lost 23-42 as 32.5-point underdogs at Washington. They have played three of their last four on the road and are certainly excited about being back home here for Senior Day.
The home team has won four of the last five meetings in the series, including a 34-24 upset as 2.5-point underdogs by Oregon State in their last Civil War in Corvallis. The Ducks are 3-12-1 ATS in their last 16 road games. Oregon is 5-15-1 ATS in its last 21 games following a win. The Ducks are 0-7 ATS in road games vs. teams who allow 425 or more yards per game over the last three seasons. Bet Oregon State Friday.

Jazz vs. Lakers

The Lakers are really starting to play up to their potential after a slow start to the season. It was only a matter of time with Lebron James leading the way. The Lakers are 6-1 in their last seven games overall coming in. Now they’re up against a struggling Jazz team that is 1-4 SU & 1-4 ATS in its last four games overall. And the Jazz are a tired team right now with so much travel. They will be playing their 6th road game in their last seven contests here. They had to travel clear out East and now they are back out West for this showdown. The Lakers are rested playing just their 2nd game in 5 days. Give me the Lakers.

Today is senior day for the 9-2 Bearcats, and while their freshman quarterback Desmond Ridder had a dreadful day against the undefeated Knights of UCF last weekend, things will be better for him today at home against a yielding Pirates defense that has given up plenty of big numbers already this season.
The Pirates are just 3-11 against the spread their last 14 on the road, and on an overall 10-23-1 spread slide since the 2016 season. One of those wins in that 10-23-1 slide happens to be a 48-20 stunner they pulled off last season at home against Cincinnati, so you can assume that the Bearcats will be chomping at the bit to get on the turf at Nippert Stadium and avenge that loss from a season ago.
That loss snapped a 6-game series winning streak for Cincy, but the Bearcats can hang their hats on the fact they have covered each of ECU's last 6 visits to the Queen City.
On senior day expect senior receiver Khalil Lewis to go over 600 yards receiving for the season in this one, and also expect running back Michael Warren II who was held in check last week against undefeated UCF to bust free for some big yards on the ground.
Since the Cincy defense allows just 17 points per game, and has recorded 16 interceptions for the season, look for the defense to leave the Bearcats offense in prime field position for the better part of the afternoon.
Big number, but I can easily see a 21-points or better win coming down the pike in this one.
