Genesis Open:

Outrights:

J.B. Holmes(80/1) e.w.
- - I know Riviera is his favorite course on Tour, so FWIW it sure seems like the right opportunity coming at the right time.

Phil Mickelson(25/1) e.w.
- - It’s usually a poor proposition to like the chances of a 47 year old sustaining elite form for three straight weeks.

Alex Noren(40/1) e.w.
- -

Patrick Rodgers(110/1) e.w.
- - Showing better than what his odds were, still showing at least this well.

Jimmy Walker(80/1) e.w.
- - Can he build on something? Worth a shot.

Marc Leishman(40/1) e.w.
- - Need an Aussie or a South African, gets my cash over Grace.

Paul Casey(25/1) e.w.
- - It’s ridiculous how he always finds his way over the course of 72 holes to piss away strokes (even while close to his best) instead of salvaging strokes. Which makes these odds ridiculous . . . Leaving off Howell and O’Hair.

Lucas Glover(200/1) e.w.

Chubb Classic:

Outrights:

Steve Flesch(90/1) e.w.
- - His game looked tidy and his expectations seemed justifiably high from what I heard and saw, and trusting my conclusions from my viewing has always been my most successful angle.

Rocco Mediate(200/1) e.w.
- - Seems too big to me, or not after taking a cursory look at his results.

Qatar Masters:

Outrights:

Chris Wood(20/1) e.w.
- -

Stephen Gallacher(55/1) e.w.
- -

Going with some longshots . . .

Sam Brazel(100/1) e.w.
- - Decent run of form.

Jamie Donaldson(100/1) e.w.
- - Perhaps fully emerging from a clueless patch.

Thomas Bjorn(150/1) e.w.
- - Has seemed to me that getting paired with the captain in the early rounds has not gone well. But maybe it’s the spot where the captain reaches the peak of his early season . . . T14th.

Chase Koepka(175/1) e.w.
- - He was a par making machine last week, whatever that entailed, hopefully some grit and a lid on the cup. This week will not be more of the same, hopefully things turn favorable.

Felipe Aguilar(200/1) e.w.
- - For no really good reason, this longshot edges out other multiple longshots..

Honda:

The bunched leaderboard which is light on elites is ideal for in-running wagers. But the difficult scoring conditions make any venture fraught with a sudden slide into oblivion. Since the unexpected is almost as likely as the expected, not a huge disadvantage making selections on the basis of minimal substance.

In-running . . .

Patrick Rodgers(300/1)(1/4 for 1-2-3-4) e.w.

WGC Mexico:

Outrights:

Jon Rahm(11/1) e.w.
- - Seems like a decent spot to try and be on board his winning train for my first time (which always converts me into more of a fan than I am before it happens).

Paul Casey(28/1) e.w.
- - Some credentials for playing his best in the best company and on fiddly tests.

Thomas Pieters(35/1) e.w.
- - Would be the first play I would drop out of these seven.

Tony Finau(40/1) e.w.
- - Would rate this as my top play.

Chez Reavie(60/1) e.w.
- - Believe rather than just suspect he still has some early season flash in his arsenal, but entirely speculative how he likes Mexico City.

Pat Perez(80/1) e.w.
- - Really like Pat to show up in some big event(s) before summer has even arrived, but the higher math to figure out this course may not suit his quick trigger.

Patton Kizzire(100/1) e.w.
- - Seems worthy of a flyer as being among the best of the rest.

Saturday:

Noren(+100) over Reed
- - Not keen on anything, yet. Maybe wouldn't mind being wrong on this one.

Noren(50/1) e.w. for The Masters
- - Not keen on his propensity at Augusta, just expect he will be near his best.
