I'm with hacheman on this one...

Soccer doesn't require the physicality of football has
Soccer doesn't require the skill that baseball has
And doesn't have the athletes that basketball has

These athletes although great at what they do are not what I consider top tier athletes. Anyone can condition their body to run that much, then its about ball skills and if youre telling me that's what makes a top athlete then we very much disagree.

Lol, the amount of ignorance about soccer is precisely why most of you Americans suck at it. All sports are great and have their own challenges.

Comparing soccer to frisby is just plain dumb and not a good look for a forumsville mod.

maybe you take soccer a little too personally then. my opinion isn't worth any more than anyone elses. but I'd say comparing soccer athletes to NFL athletes is equally laughable

Soccer is becoming huge in the USA. It will continue to grow. Went down to Seattle for a match and they had 40k in attendance. Drove a few more hours down and Portland was sold out. World Cup Ratings were massive. It will help if the Men's USA team continues to get better. Don't compare Frisbee players to soccer players..

I respect you and your opinions... but this one is really off, I'm not personal about soccer, otherwise I would say american sports are shit compared to it, which i don't think so but as far as athletic ability goes, I think "football" is below soccer and basketball is a more balanced/skillful sport than FB. You are the one getting personal comparing it to frisby, there's a reason the sport of the WORLD is soccer and not american football is not because you have not tried exporting it but guess what, people would rather play rugby than american football in most English speaking countries.

If you bash soccer like a plain talent-less sport you are just being blind about it. Each to its own I guess, I have played soccer, basketball and american football and all I can say I like them all better than baseball, and the two sports that I felt put my body to the limit where soccer and basketball. FB is less demanding on your physic as a whole, but is the sport when you need more muscular mass and general body strength.

Or it could be because 'the rest of the world' can't compete with American's in Basketball, football, and baseball.

The argument goes both ways pocket.

And the difference is this....

As I said earlier in the thread, If just a small percentage of American Athletes would grow up concentrating on soccer, rather than football, basketball, or baseball, then the U.S. would dominate it with athletes who are far superior.
But basically other than Hispanics, nobody cares about playing it here, and that's the ONLY reason the U.S. hasn't become dominant in the sport.

But on the other hand, 'the rest of the world' could NEVER compete with Americans in their 3 major sports no matter how long or how hard they concentrated on getting better at it.

Just friendly debate.. :)

Do US athletes dominate baseball, pitching maybe, but hasn't the US batter been surpassed at the top of the hill?

This is true. If America actually gave two shits about soccer we would dominate.

The rest of the world cant compete with you guys because the rest of the world doesnt give 2 shits about having a full blown pro league... american football, nay, basketball? (they have good leagues in Europe but nowhere near NBA) and baseball, well, you are competing with Mexicans, Cubans, Dominicans and Japanese and guess what, they suck in all the other sports not just baseball.

Soccer is able to grow on poor countries because is a cultural phenomenon, look at Costa Rica, our local league is shit, I could never watch an entire game nowadays but we kicked major ass in the world cup because our culture is linked directly to soccer, its in our dna, plus we have a good generation of players and had a great disciplined coach.

You keep saying if you gave 2 shits about soccer you would dominate... yeah, like brazil dominates, like italy dominates, like england dominates, like spain dominates, no country dominates.

And forgive me if a shrug any opinion of soccer by a guy that compared it to frisby... I just cant take your soccer knowledge seriously. Lots of american posters here that actually know about the sport will laugh at the frisby thing. Is just your closed minded POV, you never played soccer, I'd love seeing you play, see how little skill you need to shoot let alone pass the ball.

Do you realize they're totally two different sports right?

Speaking of athleticism, I'll take Hope Solo over you in a street fight.

Those countries two shits do not compare to America's half a shit.
