Now that the rest of the world got to see this guy, who I told you guys all about before the season even started. Who do you think the EAGLES would rather have? COLSON or Stallworth?

By the way, what did the great future HOFer do this week? I did not seem to see his name in the box score this week.

Oh wait!!!!! Let me check the injury report. OH!!!!! There he is. It seems that he had a hang nail.

Enjoy him. We dont need him.

3-0 Saints.

By the way Eagles fans, thanks for the 3rd round pick and Mark Simenoiu.

Do you have anymore lopsided trades you would like to propose?

OK, now you're sounding like an idiot. Just because you gave away a good receiver, no need to act like a clown because the guy sat out one week. Obviously he is helping the Eagles and is way more valuable than a bag of footballs which is basically what NO traded him for.

Since when was is a bag of footballs a 3rd round pick?

A 3rd round pick is big!!!!!!!!

Plus we also got a linebacker on top of that, thats been doing a pretty damm good job.

You call a 3rd round draft pick a bag of footballs. You sound like your the one thats the idiot.
Even if we still had Stallworth, where would he play? The only role he would have on this team is Kickoff returner and 4th reciever. He has no role on the Saints. COLSTON is 10x the reciever Stallworth ever was, or ever will be. COLSTON is a canidate for ROY folks.

I wonder how good Colston would be with Aaron Brooks throwing to him.

Stallworth is 2nd in the league in yards per game and yards per catch.

I'll bet you anything you want that Stallworth has more TD's and receiving yards than your rookie.

Lets put up the money right now!!! By the way, the bet is not void if your precious HOFer gets hurt.

Thats part of the reason why the Saints got him.

Steal of draft? How about Saints’ Colston?

6-foot-4 rookie from Hofstra quickly develops into Brees' go-to guy

NEW ORLEANS - Marques Colston’s rise from little known Division I-AA prospect to one of Drew Brees’ go-to receivers has been so sudden, even his coach couldn’t see it coming.
“If we loved him we would have drafted him in the third round or the fourth round, so we liked him,” Saints coach Sean Payton said of the seventh-rounder out of Division I-AA Hofstra. Payton’s eyes were smiling as if he’d just been dealt 21 at a blackjack table.
“We thought he had all those tools that are necessary and yet there’s that uncertainty as to all the other things. So I’m excited about a young player.”

Colston made four clutch catches in the Saints’ season-opening victory over the Cleveland Browns on Sunday. All came on third downs — three for first downs, the other for New Orleans’ only touchdown.
He was not even certain to make the roster on draft day, yet Colston strolled calmly from the end zone after his first NFL touchdown. His veteran quarterback was the one who looked like the excitable rookie, leaping up to smack the 6-foot-4 receiver on the helmet and shoulder pads.

Colston has been quite impressive but Stallworth has been equally impressive (even more so) this year. Time will tell who got the better of the deal....

The whole point of this thread is the fact that Stallworth does not have a role on the Saints.

Even if we would not have made the trade, Stallworth would have been the 4th reciever on this team returning punts and kicks.

Colston beat him out in training camp.

The poster said that we traded Stallworth for a bag of footballs and a stick of bubble gum.

When was a 3rd round pick and a starting linebacker a bag of footballs and a stick of bubble gum?

The linebacker we got in the trade was nothing more than a throw in for the trade. The real reason for the trade was the 3rd round pick, not a 4th round pick as the title of this thread incorrectly said.

Also the little throw in linebacker is a starter and is doing a damm good job. He has a bigger role on this team than Stallworth would have had.

Well you also said the trade was lopsided (in Saints favor) and I'm not sure I agree with you there. Maybe if this injury forces Stallworth to miss a lot of time but if he comes back soon, he should be in line for a Pro Bowl appearance. I know it's real early to say that but he has been McNabbs go to guy this year and has put up some nice numbers thus far.

Never said it was totally lopsided. What I did say was the trade favors the Saints.

The way this thread started on page 1, people made Stallworth sound like he was the 2nd comming of Jerry Rice!

One poster said this was the most lopsided trade in the history of football LOL.

At the very least, this was and even trade. At the very most, the Saints got the better end of the deal.

STEAL OF THE DECADE. LOVE IT!!!!!

Check out my post from 8/28. Traded for a bag of footballs.

This is the post I was talking about.

Trust me, this was no steal of the decade buddy. You will agree with my by the end of the season.

I use to be in your shoes, so I understand. I remember when the Saints took him with the 12th pick of the draft. I remember seeing his flashes of brillance. He is a constant tease player. Just about the time you decide to put the great label on him, he stinks it up. Just about the time you put the bust label on him, he does something great. Im tired of that yo-yo effect that hes had on my emotions the last 4 years, now its your turn to experience it. Talk to you at the end of the season.

P.S

Please tell your beloved EAGLES to extend his contract now, before they see the real Stallworth so we can get our 3rd round pick.

THANKS.

Chop, no offense but you talk a great game, he has really added to a slot the Eagles were in need of. He will produce and will turn out to be a much better fit than T.O.

I guess its way to early to claim who got the better deal right now. If Stallworth plays 14 or so games I'm sure the Eagles got the best of it. If he's hurt on and off most of the season, they probably won't resign him so the deal will be a 4th. Its not like a 3rd or 4th guarantees you a good player anyways. I would say you have a 33% chance of getting a 3rd/4th rounder to turn in to a solid Player.

I still would like to wager with you Chop...How bout a $100 gift certificate to a restaurant or something.

I will send you $100 bucks to the sportsbook of your choice at the end of the season, and you do the same if I win.

The fair bet would be, whoever gets the most TDs, since they both have 2 right now.

injuries does not void the bet one way or the other.

But you must agree, an injury does not void the bet. If Stallworth does not play another down, I still win.

Thats part of the reason I say this was a good trade.
