A strain/ sprain is a partial tear just an FYI.

If he had a partial tear of the calf I think he would have been close to completely healed after 5 weeks.

There is a reason they kept it under wraps. Because they were hopeful he would return in the finals. And if they told the world he had a torn calf. Everyone would know you’re not going to be safe to play in an nba final game in 5 weeks. Impossible. There is a reason they didn’t specify the injury imo. It’s unfair to Durant for the world not to know his injury.

Agree. We need to know what the injury was prior to game five.

And the calf can be a lingering issue for sure but nobody is missing 5 weeks for a partial tear when you’re in the nba finals. If it’s a grade 3 strain....that is a complete tear. I can almost guarantee he tore his calf muscle. Which makes it unethical of any doctor to clear him imo.

I go back to the MRI. Certainly he had an MRI five weeks ago no?

Gottlieb was talking today about how a lot of times the mri can be tough to read or misdiagnos which I don’t get. Being the conspiracy theorist he even said if he already a slight tear in the Achilles and was gonna need the surgery anyway the plan could have been sit him out until absolutely necessary anyway, which last night was. Essentially saying that if he was going to have the surgery anyway than although the injury looks bad the tear had already happened and he was going to miss next year anyway already. Idk much about the surgery but I’ve heard of guys needing tommy John surgery but playing with it since you can’t do any more damage....someone would have to explain that all better than I could, not sure that’s how an Achilles injury works. Either way he wasn’t 100% and probably shouldn’t have been out there to begin with.

I've never heard of an athlete being able to play with a slightly torn achilles tendon.

Me either. Seemed odd he was bringing it up. A slight tear and a full tear may have the same recovery time though based on the need for surgery and if he was 70% maybe they said roll the dice. Hope that’s not the case because really doesn’t make the organization look like they care

Seems that at a minimum he would have had to have a partial tear prior to last night. Last night with the leg popping the way it did it would seem the tendon is severed completely. Can’t kmagine an athletes that important with medical people treating him constantly weren’t aware that it was at least a partial tear

This is going to be a lesson for other organizations and players to look at. I understand the urgency situation. But your career and what you’ve done for a particular organization shouldn’t be lost because you aren’t healthy enough to play in a series.

What’s fucked up is they don’t tell the world his injury...but they tell the world that the doctors cleared him to play lol. So if Durant decides to NOT play because he doesn’t feel comfortable yet. The whole world going to think he’s a cupcake pussy bitch. That’s reality.

This type of comment is all too common and so ignorant.
Indict millions of people due to the actions of hundreds.

So true. Was it reported that the crowd applauded KD and chanted KD KD KD.

No because it doesn't have the sizzle of what first happened.

I don’t read your nonsense replies. Interesting how a male who works at a hair salon is talking about sucking balls though. You “roommates” with a 14 year old Filipino boy by chance?
