Cesar Ramos punking O hagan right now, 6-1 Beach in the 4th. I bet #1 team in the nation Stanford appreciates the NCAA sending one of the best 5 teams in the country to Palo Alto.

Isn't Long Beach st in Ca? Where the hell are they supposed to go? NYC? And the highest ranking I see on them is 12th... but then I haven't seen the "bird" rankings in awhile.

Long Beach State should have had their own region, instead of HICK schools like Mississippi, South Carolina getting regions. Half of the 16 teams that got home regionals do not belong on the same field as the dirtbags. It was also VERY unfair that Stanford had to deal with a team like Long Beach St, while lesser programs get to play Stony Brook and Younstown State.

the way it looks now - the douchebags will be hosting arizona next week in the SR

and my guess is there is another SR hosted about 20 miles away @ goodwin. tulane won the oxford regional. fullerton is killing pepperidge farm 11-1 headed to T8 meaning the 2 will play again for the title. we have used very few pitchers and because of that - have a ton of arms to throw at the waves.

i am headed off to that one. if you end up going ot it, rail - look for me standing right next to the Section K sign wearing a blue "Titans/16" uniform - so say hello!

Ill be riding the Beach and CSF rest of season, Irvine made respectable showing in N.dame also. Bad draw for Beach, as a Beach fan I was hoping for one of those Overrated Sec or Acc teams instead of Arizona.

Those "overrated" SEC teams comprise a large chunk(37.5%) of the remaining teams, and look to possibly be 50% of the teams in Omaha once again, but will admit that only one of them ever wins titles in Omaha..LSU.

If not for the Stanford, LBS, and CSF programs, where would California Colleges/West Coast Baseball rank in terms of consistency the past 15 years?

South Carolina is a very good team, as is Ark & LSU, with all three having nice line-ups that play hard behind some solid-not-stellar starters.

USC, LSU, & Ark all are live CWS contenders, and deserve a look as fair priced dogs if in CWS, as the SEC should go 4-2 next weekend..UF & Vandy are unfortunately up against tough draws/spots..and UGa has short trip/rivalry spot.

Many live dogs in these eight Supers, w/both of your LBS & CSF squads figuring to be favored at home in semi-even appearing series, as Az and Tulane are capable yet both have their weaknesses.

Vandy, FSU, UGa, Az, Tul, ATM, & UF all are capable of forcing a 3rd game & putting the heat on the homers.

Miami over Texas for the title, I'll stick with original my original call..but may back others for Series if prices set wrong.

Upset play as small dog or pick 'em this weekend: UGA over loaded Ga Tech

LB is NOT at home - they got sent to AZ for their fri-sun regional. We (CSUF) DO get to stay at home and beat tulane in a sat-mon regional. should be interesting to pick a winner between LB/AZ but picking a winner between fullerton/tulane won't be! for only the 2nd time in school history - Fullerton makes it B2B trips to Omaha (and the last time we went B2B was in 1994 and 1995 - in 1994 we finished in 3rd place - in 1995 we won it all. in 2003 we finished in 3rd place, in 2004...could it happen again?)

Who is gonna play the role of Jacque Jones and Phil Nevin?

Those were some awesome Titan teams "back in the day", and do think there is parity this year, with small edge to Miami and Texas.

Ramos and Weaver best 1-2 punch in college baseball, Weaver went to Tuscon and threw a 3hit shutout a month ago. Winky, it says on LB website that the Az series is at Blair. Weaver is 15-1 only loss at Cains last week but struckout 11 in 6ip. Ramos only gave up 3 hits and left in the 9th with a 3run lead against cains. LongBeach is better than Miami IMO, especially in an elimination format.

The only way Railbird attends the Az series is if they move it to Huntington Beach... he doesn't travel well.

I believe this is a home series for Long Beach. Whereabouts are you located Railbird? Seen many games at Blair?

Please, the Canes smacked Weaver around good just a few weeks ago and then proceeded to smack Long Beach up again, the very next night. I'll take Miami's offense over LB's pitching. Miami has the ability to put up runs in a hurry. My only concern with Miami is having their closer kicked off the team. That could come back to bite them.

Rail, 1st Rnd pitchers have a long track record the past twenty years in the CWS(sans USC's Mark Prior) for being lit up.

Be careful, as CWS winners usually win via their Ping drivers, with Rice's effort last year being the exception/not rule, & had hitters missing this year from that team.

Decent pitching with exceptional closers the past decade backing a great hitting team has been the most consistent formula?

LSU & Miami have dominated the last decades by riding a balanced mix, but hitting was the catalyst in both of their CWS wins. While other Omaha regulars like Stanford, South Carolina, LBS, Clemson, etc..seem to come close-but-no-cigar on pitching alone?

Even the dow-joneser CWS winners of recent like SoCal, Okla,etc..hit the ball the years they showed up & cashed. Small-ball like that of LBS' recent teams play, make winning out a tough run?

Shoe,

NCAA committee shoould be charged with a crime putting 2 of the 5 best teams in the nation in the PAlo Alto region.

Dirtbags arleady made a trip to Coral Gables and had more hits than the Cains in the 3 total games.

Cains only left the state of Florida once this year.
Texas got hammered when they went to Stanford.

Weaver is Strikout pitcher, which is what you want in Omaha, Rosenblatt wind was blowing out in last few years.

Hey Mighty Bulldogs!

Go to Omaha Jawja!

ND & GT Baseball have always let the NCAA down, no matter how many Supers the powers that be shower them with!

Long Beach won't make it to Omaha if they blow another late lead. I don't see why you're bustin' a nut over them, Railbird. They seem rather average.
