Hope to God you're not saying it was New England, a team GB almost beat on the ROAD with no RODGERS.............

RODGERS would have shredded the NE pass defense more than he did to Pittsburgh had they met in the Superbowl............

Never underestimate good power ratings. They take into consideration almost everything relating to the teams. You pay no attention to power ratings ? Power ratings are behind almost every line that the offshores or Vegas puts out there. Long before the Steelers beat the Jets, my co-worker that was with me at the M said " I think the Steelers will be a slight favorite over the Packers " right ? I replied " No, I think the Packers will be favored by 2 1/2 ". He said how can a 6 seed be favored over a 2 seed ? Simple answer ... Their not as good as the 6 seed and the power ratings said so and the power ratings were correct. The power ratings aren't the Bible but they sure offer a great guide !

Exactly. People get far too wrapped up in GB being a 6 seed. The injuries were the main reason they were. If they were as healthy as Chicago (fewest injuries in the league), they are a 1-2 seed.

A let down spot for NE after crushing Pittsburg {in Steeltown}, Indy, the Lions {45-24}, NYJ {by 40+ pts}, the Bears {by 29 in the Windy city, a team GB was lucky to go 2-1 against & never beat by more than 7}. GB would have lost @ the Steelers.

Yet NE still won, even though they probably didn't even need to, having beaten Pitt and Balt,
they took the AFC by 2+ games.

The excuse was he had a bad day and/or his foot was a problem. He had surgery days after the game. He had a poor outing for him, yet the Pats still had more first downs, 25-13, more yards 372-314, yet lost the turnover battle 0-1 and failed twice on 4th down, as well as sucking in the red zone {including 2 short field goals, 34 & 25 yds}. Again, to say they were not the best team in the NFL just because they lost ignores the fact they already crushed these same Jets earlier by over 40 points and that the 18-0 Pats also lost. Are you saying they weren't the best?

No The Giants were the best team, scoreboard is what i look at. Brady had the foot problem long before the Jets game and he played fine with it. Now its a excuse ! Brady can get healthy and not have an excuse and I would take the Packers with no looking back

Yet they struggled hugely with the Bears all 3 times. NE crushed them in Chicago
by almost 30 points.

Again they did not trail my more then 7 points all season ! And they won the championship. NE struggled with GB with Rodgers and alot of backups and no running game. hat does that tell you ?

If he had the injury long before, something you have not proven, who's to say it doesn't
get worse over time, especially when he has surgery right after the Jets game.

Played fine with it?

You'ld take GB, even though NE crushed the Bears, while GB barely got by them?

I don't think many here will agree with you that the 18-0 Pats were an inferior team
to the NYG.

That's like saying the Browns were a better team this year because they beat NE.

Of course judging who is better after the game as a gambler is useless, unless
you have a time machine that can take you back before the fact later.

Before the playoffs the Pats were a runaway huge fav over the rest of the league.
I doubt many, including you, were saying the Pack was best then.

Not sure why your comparing games that happened in the regular season. last I checked playoff games are where the money and glory is. GB and the Giants passed that test, NE didn't. I doubt if even Brady is celebrating NE's earlier rout of the Jets. Who is listening to that ? Jets beat NE 2 out of 3 so you need to get off that anyway ! BTW GB shut out NY in NY

wellsaid Murphy fishead is a huge homer fan no talking to him ...

thanks bud...

I surely didnt mean these guys arent sharp.. and that they dont win.. they obviously do...

i just meant that of course someone would make a thread with "Hey i got a 150 to 1 future still alive in superbowl" but they would never make a "I got a 2 to 1 favorite still alive in playoffs" or a "all my futures lost this year thread".... it was the only point I was trying to make.. if they are exceptional at picking futures.. great.. but let us know what they are when they buy them (all ten or 12 teams they bet) not pick one out of the lot and say I got so and so at 150 to 1.. because they may have lost 8-10 others which ate up half that profit..

in any case I know these guys are good at it.. i just wanted to point out the threads are only started by "most" posters who have "HIT" a long shot.. not "MISSED" one

Kermit and myself aren't posting in the picks threads. So we don't need to post every future we make. I'm not doing that for several reasons. We are not tracking these plays either. . Its pretty obvious we don't pick just 1 team out of a hat and hope and pray that team gets thru for a payoff. Of course we miss a lot of long shots, thats part of the hedging process along with a few other tools. Also don't think I have ever played a 2/1 team in futures, no value in that. I would played it sooner then that or been hedging long before that.

Packers were clearly the best team. Not down by more than touchdown all year. 4 points their biggest lost. If Rodgers doesn't get hurt they 100 percent beat the Lions and the Pats. Did you people watch the Pack-Pats game? There's not a QB I trust more with the ball than Rodgers. He makes things happen.

I play a lot of futures/props too. I don't post many because I fear that books will take them down and claim a bad line. Don't laugh, anyone who plays them knows.

The voting is going precisely how I thought it would.............

Nice to see the best team come out on top, which doesn't always happen in the Superbowl.

It will be quite sometime, if ever, before any team surpasses Green Bay's 13 NFL Championship titles.

Voting is 25-14 for the squares/public. Maybe some changed their mind?

As to championships, it's been dominated by the Steelers and Pats for some time recently.
They've made it to the dance 7 times recently.
