For all you Patriot backers who think your team was better then GB, think again. Your team was exposed in the playoffs, you lost. We can't go by woulda, shoulda, coulda, , remember your getting credit for the Brady choke job win when he fumbled the ball against Oakland in the snow. One more thing, GB coaching staff didn't cheat !!

And Fish, keep telling yourself the Big Dance is a fraud, no fraud team yet has won the tournament. These game count remember, unlike College football postseason exhibition games.

I think GB was the best team. Almost beating the Pats (I think, clearly the best team in the regular season) with their backup QB, and then going on to win the SB without a bye-week are what do it for me.

Nope. Steelers were a better team. GB was better in the game, but I think they only win about 35-40% of the time over 100 matchups in that situation.

Green Bay wins by 14+ easily if receivers don't drop the ball ! I would bet GB every time getting less then a FG.

Just as the majority of punters did for the Superbowl.........and the majority would win again the majority of time.

funny how everybody made an issue out of the #6 seed.....the packers were 2 plays away from being the #1 seed.....it's not like they were the equivalent of a march madness #16 taking on a #1

Definitely the HOTTEST... they were tested had beat the 3 teams in playoffs on the road the

1, and 2 seeded team included --- then PITTS

Best team in NFC .....

Pats blew it and on the road they are not the same as at home....

Exactly........and they had the availability of RODGERS, JENKINS, SHIELDS, and STARKS for their playoff run.

By the way, think a few people have underrated GB a tad because of this when looking at some of their close losses.

It was a huge plus for GB having all four of these guys healthy at one time, and the playoffs gave proof to such.

I'd classify fumbles and interceptions in the same category, of coin flips,
as dropping the ball. GB got 3 of those to none for the Steelers. Lucky.

Although dropped passes & poor throws by GB could also be chalked
up to inexperience & 1st time jitters in the SB, which was an advantage
to Pittsburg many of their backers made note of.

I watched GB defense cause those TO's... Pittsburgh's defense didn't cause those dropped passes. If you watched the game and came away with the opinion that you would bet Pittsburgh again, well more power to you.

True, although it's not like Pittsburg wasn't trying or incapable of causing TO's.
It just so happened that GB was in the right place at the right time, got that
lucky angle of helmet to the ball, or whatever. Even after you cause the fumble,
the ball can go in many directions and bounce all over the place, so to also
recover it you have to be lucky. If the Steelers get it back, then it's makes a
major difference in the game. As i've already said elsewhere, if they play the
game 10 times the TO's will be about even. If Pitt is up in them 3-0, they win
in a cakewalk by 3 TD's, not by a lucky last minute defensive stand as GB did.

Its hard to be luck for several weeks

In a very mediocre year, GB was the best team all along IMO.

A complete ball hawking tough defense & one of the best Qb's in the game.

Took them awhile to get Starks on the field but when they did, they were able to mix in a nice little run attack.

Starks will start next year IMO if there is football.

Couple things, I won money with GB this playoff year and played them heavy to win Super Bowl with 4 teams left. Every year this same talk starts up of a dynasty etc. They didn't play well vs Bears and were it not the the fumble vs pitts they lose amid the biggest collapse in SB history. Yeah, they lost Woodson..and big ben played like crap. Not sure they are better then Pats and Pitts is right there as are the Jets....Falcons should return tough..yeah i think gb is v good..just not a powerhouse. If many think they are ill pound them in the futures..i'm not convinced though

GB is certainly not a powerhouse................

You can throw 3-5 teams in a hat that have about the same exact chance of winning the SB next year...........and then there are always 1-2 sleepers that emerge.

In this day and age, free agency AND injuries play such a key role.

Do you ever wonder how bettors like RED EYE and KERMIT make thousands and thousands every year betting futures............this is your answer.
