Albert Pujols is the best player in the history of baseball
This statement is wrong on so many levels.
Cy Young won 511 games.
If you argue Young was a pitcher, I'll argue since when is a pitcher not a player?
Babe Ruth hit .342 lifetime, hit 714 homers in a dead ball era, won 23 games and 24 games in back to back seasons.
Let me know when Pujols wins his first game.
Lou Gehrig hit .340 lifetime with 493 homers in a dead ball era.
Don't lose sight of the fact that Gehrig batted 497 times after Ruth cleaned up the bases with a homer, or he would have easily driven home over 2500.
Had 184 RBI's one season batting behind Ruth.
Plus as good as a fielder Al is, he couldn't play first like Lou did.
Think about that.
Pujols isn't even Ted Williams yet, or Stan Musial, or Hank Aaron, or Willie Mays.
Maybe when it's all said and done, but to say Pujols is the best ever to play the game is wrong.
Very wrong.
