Baseball is the sport where one executive from a big league big market team once went on national TV and was asked a question about how few black managers in MLB. He replied by saying black people did not have the mental facilities to be a manager in MLB.

Same things were said about too few black players a few years ago when Anaheim played in world series.
Also, alot of bad publicity given to LA Dodgers and now they have more non-white players.
Morgan needs to enjoy his job, the game, and get over the fact that alot of Caribbean players are now holding roster spots that formerly were held by white and black American players.

I think the level of NCAA baseball has gone up a great deal the last decade. The majority of these players are white student athletes playing a game they love and getting a degree in the process. Out of this pool comes many future big leaguers and most of them are white. Add this to the huge pool of Latin players and you can see that the african american player is a dwindling breed. You see all the time white players quitting hoops or football to concentrate on baseball, you almost never see a black player do the same, to each his own.
I did not notice that Houston had no black players until Joe Morgan pointed it out. I did not notice that last years NFC Championship game was the first that had 2 black QBs going head to head until someone pointed it out.
My point is I dont even look at race until someone like Joe Morgan forces me to look at it. The people that keeps crying about racicism seem to be the only ones that are being racist.
I can almost say with 100% honesty that if the Astros were 100% black I would not have noticed unless someone brought it up.

It's a fact now that most NBA teams strive to bring in a "quality" white player to compliment the team roster. The reason for this is that they finally figured out that there's just not enough affluent blacks to fill their arenas with season packages and deluxe seating. OPPS.....am I being the racist now?
Joe Morgan...the ultimate racist. As was previously stated he wouldn't have said a thing if the whole team was black. On Sunday night baseball he seems to act agitated when his white co-announcer states something that he doesn't agree with entirely...I think he resents playing second fiddle in the booth as a COLOR(ed) commentator.
