I just heard some disturbing stats on, of all places, "Countdown" with Keith Obermann, about Howard: it seems he has really putrid stats against lefties in his home park, and the two statd that I remembered was, he hit less than .200 and had only ONE home run at home all season vs lefties. That's hard to believe, or ignore...

I love the fact that hardly anybody is giving the phillies a chance. Talk about a lack of respect.

Yeah, and the Phillies are much better than the Angels. When you have to start Saunders in an elimination game, you'd better better have some offense-and I don't mean Hunter and Mr. Plate Discipline, Vladdy, hitting in the 3 and 4 holes. And a lot of people were apprehensive about Puentes when the playoffs rolled around, and when he pitched, we saw why. Even more people were apprehensive about Lidge, and when HE pitched, he was money. The rest of the Phillie bullpen has been pretty good, too. Joba the Hutt and that clown who lost Game 5 for the Yankees, not so much.
:laugh::lolBIG:

Phils better than angels...you are seriously fucked up angels were the 2nd best team in baseball from top to bottom, and as far as saunders what pitcher from philly had more wins then he did? That would be....no one

Ok maybe I was a little biased, I admit. Texiera clearly does have the advantage in the field, he is the best fielding 1st baseman in the leauge but Howard has got increasingly better in the field this year with committing very few errors compared to previous years and is no longer a liability out there. I just can not look pass the presence he brings to the phillies line up. He is the type of player who changes games at any time with one swing of the bat. I'll take Howard and his average fielding over Tex, sorry just what it is. Jetes is Jeter everyone knows what he brings in the playoffs. Mr. November or whatever his nickname is, he is a great clutch performer and I do not take anything away from him. My arugment is that I just think it is funny when people write off a guy who won an MVP a few years back and is the motor that get this team going. He is great in the field, makes things happen on base and when he wants he puts in quality at bats in the playoffs. Correct me if I am wrong but did he not just win a game with a walk off double with 2 outs against the feared Broxton. Not to shabby for clutchness himself. What is so annoying, actually almost laughable about Yankees fans is that they believe they have this series won already. My arugment is what has THIS Yankee team done? THIS collection of players not the 2000 Yankees, the 2009 Yankee team. What have they proven to be prematurely crowned the 2009 WSC. I'm pretty sure that the Philadelphia Phillies have already developed a pedigree of winning in their locker room. This collection of guys have proven they can be the last team standing. Yet they continued to be over looked. I can not wait to watch this series as it involves the two best teams in baseball which is how it should be. It should be an unbelieveable series but I see the Phillies in 7 as Sabathis wears down going 3 times in a series on 3 days rest. I think the 3 man rotation will come to hurt the Yankees in the end against this potent Phillies line up.

these things you mention that rollins does have been done by jeter before rollins ever stepped on a mlb field....jeter a career 317 hitter...rollins 274 career hitter...man you don't know shit about baseball.

I see your slowly starting to learn.....he also went 2-14 with 2 singles 3 strikeouts and 0 rbi vs nyy pitching this past may and that was long before the yanks even started play good baseball.

That was in MAYYYYYY. Have you seen him at the plate in the playoffs???? Probably not because your blinded by the pinstripes. What the fuck does his stats in NYY have to do with the Yankees playing good ball or not. .:WTF:

I agree it's easily the 2 best teams, and hope it goes 7 for rooting purposes for me. Good points. :103631605

He also hit 3 homeruns in one game against them a couple of years ago...how gives a fuck. Is it really that hard for you to admit that the Phillies are also a good team??? Your ignorance is very disturbing. :puke1:

That's right, Nitwit, I didn't write a typo, I said the Phillies are better than the Angels: not only are they the defending World Champions who easily defended their NL East crown, they smoked (for the 2nd straight year) a Dodger team that led the NL in wins, and I'll take the Philly lineup every day of the week over that pop gun Angel line-up, with Vladdy the (self) Impaler killing rallies left and right by swinging at balls over his head and in the dirt. Saunder had the most most wins? Ooooooh, wait to grab a newspaper, Bill James, if you actually KNEW something about the game you'd realize that wins can be one of the most misleading and overrated stats in baseball or any other sport. Saunders with his 4.60 ERA is easily ABOVE the league average, so what does that tell you? Can you say RUN SUPPORT? He didn't look too shiny when he only got one run early, did he, couldn't even survive the 5th inning! And I know I want Puentes saving big postseason games for ME, he just radiates "this game is OVER!" when he comes in, doesn't he? Think anybody would trade Lee for any pitcher on the Angel staff, including Saunders with his precious 16 "wins?" Think again...

It's "wasting" Brainiac? For somebody who frequently acts like he's intellectually superior, you're an ignorant prick, aren't you?:laugh::happyass::nono5::trx-smly0:tongue2:

Ok, if you honestly think Werth and Swisher are close, i'm not even going to try to argue with you. Same goes with Ryan Howard and Tex.

For the guy who said the yanks are going to have fun with the Phils bullpen, Ask the dodgers how that worked out. They were saying the same dumb stuff.

Do yourself a favor and don't confuse the New York Yankees with the Dodgers

All ballbusting, arguements aside good luck to all...I think if NYY losses to Philly I might jump head first off a bridge.
