Good arguments either way in this thread.
Impossible to come to a clear answer but I think Brady gets the edge. He can't be replaced, which Bellichicks previous coaching record attests to.

But they're both great, its like PB & Jelly.

Pats win alot of these games , before the game even begins. preperation by the coaches is seconed to none.. players are always in the right place to execute to their best...When you see WR's completely open , RB's with big holes to run thru , that's by design , not because of Brady...Same with the defense, they always seem to clamp down on opponents best offensive players...its not by accident...Nobody is disputing Brady being a great QB , but this dynasty does not exist without Belichik… Brady could go to any other team in football and not smell even anything close to this kind of success..

I've said it before. Marino is the most overrated HOF QB of all time.

Don Shula was on of the greatest too. What Marino did in his era could have never been done by anyone else. Totally different era today and a million times easier for the QB's. Rule changes over the past 10+ years too. The defenses in the 80's-90's were strong as they could be. Marino only had 2 receivers and no running backs. Everyone knew he was going to throw to one of 2 guys and they could not stop it. Guys like Brady have 5+ players he throws to. Defenses has been gone for years. Can't touch the QB. Brady is the greatest of his era. As for pure QB talent (meaning could have played on any team during any era and done the same from the QB position numbers wise), don't think he hits the top 5. If he wasn't playing for NE, what would he have done for another team. I say not much. Brady is the product of the era, team, coach, worst division of the past 20, and he was gifted many of those games too (calls). Not his fault

Funny story:

My wife (who is not a huge sports fan) ran into Bill Belichick in the LA airport on Saturday, and didn't even know who she was talking to. She was on a business trip, and her boss told her after the fact.

Bill was with his girlfriend Linda Holliday. I asker her why she didn't run him down and ask for a picture or autograph, and she said she didn't want to inconvenience him... which I understand. She
said no one else was hounding him, it was like he was just another guy at the airport.

If I was an NFL owner and I just bought an NFL team and I could have my pick of either A) a 21 year old Tom Brady or B) A 40 year old Bill Belichick I would choose B every time

Completely agree

Look at all the coaches that were under Bilicheck, that have gone on to head coaching jobs to not really have much success. Then look at the couple of times he's had to plug in backup qbs and they've had moderate success. But if I had to choose, I'll see they both fit together as a perfect storm to be so dominant.

Have to root for Brady after the way NE treated him. And now Bill kissing cams ass non stop but never had a good thing to say about Tom

I hope belichick falls on his face without Brady. He didn't win before him and i don't think he will win after

Belichick, Belichick, Belichick

And he won two rings before he met TB12, as the defensive coordinator for the Giants.

The Tuna was so impressed with Belichick, he tried to lock him up to be his successor. Thankfully for Pats' fans that didn't work.

Every player, past and present, praises Belichick for preparing them better than anyone else

Can't stand the New England patriots , years ago i met this chic from Massachusetts she was very pretty but her " accent " drove me up a freaking wall & NOT in a good way . I'd rather have my nuts taken off with a chain saw than listen to her talk :ohno:

If one can't have both, one would always take the super star player over the top end coach.

A few years back i remember there was actually a debate(i believe when celtics were leading the series over Lebron's cavs in the ECF) if you would rather have Lebron or Brad Stevens.

You talk about him as an assistant coach but conveniently left out his time as a head coach with the browns.

Were the Pats good last year with Brady?

After 20 years of dominance the Pats are rebuilding an offense that was simply putrid last year. Brady has moved on to a great offense. Belichick is still rebuilding a putrid offense.

Being great does not mean that you cannot and do not lose.
