The world being on OSU was a source of my hesitancy to bet on them. The books probably win about 55-60% of these lopsided betting splits. However, I've watched both games by these two. Texas just hasn't played a full game. Against ASU, they got out to that 14-3 so quickly, and then scored 3 points total in the next 2 quarters. ASU's defense was slower and smaller. And in the Clemson game, they again played an inferior defense but couldn't put the game away until about a minute left. Texas might win if they play a complete game, but that's a big IF. OSU could be a little too confident, so there's that...

Final game. LARGE:

Ohio State -7 (-136) Probably good that Texas gave OSU a good game. This line could be worse. Trashing Tennessee and Oregon was incredibly impressive, but at this level of college football, you're not going to blow out every team. Texas was a good matchup and possibly the 2nd best team. I think they are. Ohio State kind of needed a game like that anyways. Even though players and coaches will SAY they take games one at a time, and have major respect for each opponent, winning easily breeds overconfidence and complacency in small ways. Especially among young men.

Their defenses are about at the same level. Offensively though, OSU has the better passing QB and ND the better running QB. Yet Will Howard has been excellent at moving in and around the pocket, and running when necessary. OSU has the much better skill players, especially in space. Though some are pointing out ND's OL injuries, OSU had some there earlier in the year, and really, I think all the replacements are pretty good. I think the main injury issue is with Jeremyiah Love wearing that knee brace. He definitely does not look 100%.

I also thought PSU looked pretty impressive vs. ND. I don't think they would look that good vs. OSU. ND bettors also like to point out how doubters keep being proved wrong...that ND is winning somehow, some way. Washington last year and TCU the year before also were in this situation- and they got beaten soundly in the final. Contain Leonard in the pocket, forcing him to throw. Chip Kelly calling another great game. It's OSU for me.
