Huge game in Vancouver today. I know Vancouver isn't mathematically eliminated, but realistically they aren't going to leapfrog two of Vegas, Dallas and Nashville for a wild card spot. Even if Vancouver wins and Dallas loses tonight, the Canucks would still be 6 points behind them and 7 behind Nashville. Both Nashville and Dallas would have two games in hand on them as well. Meanwhile, Vegas is the more realistic team to bump Dallas or Nashville. The Knights face the same problem as Vancouver, where the Predators and Stars have games in hand on them. Vegas cannot afford to lose this game, especially with Dallas playing a winnable game tonight in Seattle. The Knights have won 4 in a row and seem to be putting things together, despite missing a few of their forwards. On the flip side, Vancouver has lost 2 straight, 6 of 8 and 8 of 11.
Dallas needs to keep winning and Seattle is a great team to face when you need a win. I know Dallas is playing their second straight road game, but they should not let this game get away from them. Dallas will have Oettinger in net tonight, who is more capable of stealing a game if necessary then Wedgewood is.
Looks like both dogs are going to let me down today. Time to switch to the favorites to see if my luck changes. Good luck!
