BoSox 2025 NBA Season Thread

Today: 2-1/YTD: 18-18, -2.22
I thought I was going to lose that Spurs bet. They were up 11 and then turned the ball over on three straight possessions. All of a sudden the Heat were down five. Then Wemby got fouled and missed the first free throw. Fortunately, he made the second one and Adebayo missed a three for the backdoor cover.
NBA Cup starts tomorrow. I’m interested in the Celtics, Hawks and Raptors at first glance, but I’m not locking anything in until tomorrow.

Hornets +2.5 (-105), 1*
Bulls ML (-130), 1*
Bucks went hard last night to beat Indiana who they hate. Now they play a rested and fully healthy Raptors team on the road again. Like this spot a lot for Toronto. I know Ball and Miller are out for Charlotte. I also know Zion, Murray and Missi are out for the Pelicans who have not won a game all season. I trust Charlotte way more to play hard in this game. Hornets are coming off a win against Utah when these same guys were out for them and they were 1.5 point dogs. Now I am getting an extra point against a team who I don’t trust at all. Lastly with Chicago, Embiid is on a minutes restriction. The Bulls have been playing well all year despite not having Coby White. I think they can win this game tonight.
I considered the Clippers but I can’t get there without Kawhi against the best team in the league. GL

I was prepared to complain about the bad beat we took with Charlotte. However, you can’t really do that when the Bulls erase a 19 point halftime deficit and win on a last second three. I think 2-1 is fair, I’ll take the profit and run.

Paolo Banchero over 23.5 points (-115), 1*
I wanted to bet and post this ahead of tomorrow’s game with the Celtics. I think this number only goes up. Boston is weakest at the power forward position without Tatum. They are going to start with Minott and throw guys like Chris Boucher, Xavier Tillman and even Queta or Jaylen Brown. He has the talent or speed or size advantage on all those guys. These are all NBA Cup games which means there won’t be any question about effort from the stars and they will play their full allotment of minutes, if not a few more. Even if Paolo isn’t having a good shooting night, he should be able to draw fouls and pick up some free points at the line. I wouldn’t mind betting 30+ or 35+ points either.
I have a few other bets I’m eyeing. As is required in the nba, let’s see who is playing tomorrow before I make any other bets.

There are a bunch of other sides I am interested in. Unfortunately it’s the nba, so we have to wait 8 hours to find out who is playing in these games. The only reason I’m betting Portland now is because they don’t have any questionable players and Miami has a couple guys who I expect to miss the game. Both Powell and Jaquez left last night’s game with ankle sprains. Herro is already out. They could be very thin at the shooting guard/small forward position tonight.
