I’m fading the Red Sox here. I was planning to buy on them in this series. They are better then Minnesota. The Twins are going to trade some pieces away, which already started with the Paddack trade. He was supposed to start tomorrow. Then I hear that the Red Sox had a brutal flight to Minnesota. They had bad turbulence to the point that they had to land in Detroit. Then they took off for Minnesota and the turbulence was still brutal. I think you could have some tired guys out there, first game of the road trip. It’s being reported that some guys were still dealing with motion sickness as of an hour ago. I will look to come back on Boston tomorrow or Wednesday, but I think the Twins are catching the Red Sox when they are not at their best. More to come soon.

The numbers have improved if people bet them when I did. All the futures went down a little bit with the injuries to Cole, Stanton and Gil. I still like all the bets at the current numbers. I’m not going to quibble between 9/1 and 10/1 to win the pennant. Or 20/1 v 22/1 to win the World Series. If we hit those bets, we will be happy.

I will probably add a couple more futures right before the season starts. I kind of want to buy on the Reds. I could see Francona getting the most out of that group. He is a real leader and that’s a young team, which will be helpful for them. Francona will get the message out instead of the players having to do that part, like Cora did for the Red Sox last year. Now they have Bregman and a healthy Story, so the situation is different. Maybe Francona to win NL Manager of the Year is the way to go. Anyway, I will be back in a couple weeks.

nice read man the futures still look strong even with the line shifts injuries are part of the game but sounds like you’ve got a good angle on it curious to see if you lock in reds or go the francona route keep us posted when you’re back with the updates

I am waiting until after the deadline. Like literally Friday to decide if I want to bet on the Reds to make the playoffs. I think it’s going to be tough for Francona to win manager of the year based on how well the Brewers have played. Especially if they have the best record in the NL at season’s end. Same with Counsell if the Cubs end up in that spot. It seems to me like that last wildcard spot is going to come down to the Padres and Reds. I think the Cardinals are going to sell. The Giants are selling relievers. Marlins seem too far back and are going to sell a little. Braves and Diamondbacks are toast. There are basically two teams left standing unless the Giants make a run. Let’s see what happens over the next 24 hours before I decide if I want to get frisky with the Reds or Francona.

Let’s be honest, the Reds owe us one after scoring 12 runs yesterday and not covering the runline. That’s not why I’m making this bet, but that was crazy last night. The Braves are in a tailspin. They are finding ways to lose which is what bad teams do. They will lose 1-0 in extras and 12-11 in extras. Acuna is out now. The Reds have some wind at their back and I think they pick up another win today.

Good month of July, eliminated a lot of the deficit. Let’s start off August with a win. GL
