Sure Bonds Gets Bored A Lot. But He Really Really Really Looks Like An Ass When He Gets Thrown Out At First For Not Hustling.

If I Were A Ballplayer I Would Hustle All The Time To Set A Good Example For Kids. I Would Use My Position To Make A Positive Impact On Kids. I Think Often About Things Joe D Used To Say About Playing Hard All The Time And Always Wearing A "good Suit" Out In Public. Looking Professional On And Off The Field At All Times Was Important To Him Because He Thought Someone Could Be Seeing Him For The First Time. Bonds Has Zero Class Compared To That Sentiment.

Rob .he'd be batting .375 or higher and be on base over 60 % of the time slicing line drives al over the place...I must be in left field with barry on this one...You wanna talk about a real bust Blue Edwards look no further than your backyard at that piece of garbage name Sammy Sosay...Mr 75 RBI playing in Wrigley swinging at every pitch with that lineup? Sosa is so overrated its comical!

Bonds its 2.5 times the player Sosa ever will be....I really don't even like Barry Bonds, i know he's somewhat of a jerk..hell i'm even a jerk for the most part...but I really believe his lack of hustle comes with his age, my gosh he is 40, we forget because he makes it look so easy, I remember when Willie Mays was limping around at 40, now that was sad to watch...Even Frank Robinson who player managed somewhat effectively was completely shot at 40...Bonds is playing leftfield for God sake! His patience and discipline are what keeps him fresh and so damn good! I think he paces himself, just like he does at the plate , waiting for that one damn pitch to leave the yard....I would have bet my life 15 years ago no one would ver be intentionally walked 100 times and walked over 200 times in year...

Steve Garvey who was a pretty decent power hitter, walked just over 400 times his whole career, and he played a long time! Put that in perspective! Bonds has walked 400 times in two years...His patience and discipline are just incredible....As far as his fitness/drug use ROB, I really dont know what to think about it...I mean, we have every big time athlete in every sport rumored , its just too much to think about.."who's using what"....Bonds attitude is media driven, i saw this same thing locally with Eddie Murray , the media hated him because he wouldnt give interviews, players loved him...But in the media he was a 'cancer to the clubhouse' ...the media can sway anyone's thinking ...

LOL Joe D..no disrespect to him as a player, but he had to be one of the most unusal human beings off the field..talk about a real prick...He wouldnt do any baseball fuction unless he was addressed as the greatest living ballplayer? now thats arrogant!

Mr Coffee was getting Marylyn Monroe though so that does say something,lol..he seemed like a very miserable old man at the end of his life...I could be off base on this one.

Funny you should mention him, too young to know him as a player. Seems he was portrayed ass a arrogant prick who pretty much died alone. I did like him as Mr. Coffee and admire him doing Marylin Monroe but it seems he had the same relationship with the media and his teamates as Barry did. You mention your kid loves Barry but you feel he does'nt set a good example. To me how you treat your family and friends is how you should be judged. OJ Simpson use to wear nice suits, Pete Rose hustled and at one and was the perfect example how one handles himself on the field.

I Wasnt Trying To Say That Wearing Nice Suits Alone Or Hustling On Every Play Alone Makes Someone A Good Role Model. But If Someone Did Dress Professionally Not Like The Pajamas And Retro-jerseys The Players Wear To The Arenas Nowadays And Played Hard And Tried To Promote Family Values And Spoke Eloquently And Treated People With Respect And Gave Their Time To Help Charities That Would Be Nice To See. Jason Sehorn And John Elway Are Good Role Models.

>>>Or Like Last Night A Triple That For Any Other Player In The League Would Have Been A Homerun.<<<

Didn't see that last night. But I can't remember the last time I saw an inside the park HR for ANY player. How many have there been this year?<!-- / message -->

To criticise not stretching a triple into an ITP HR seems a bit harsh.
