From Serbone:

- "I will go with the Blues Monday, probably small. They lost 6-3 but, the Blues were not out played, out skated, out shot, nor out hit..."
- "It is hockey, crazy things happen, but the Blues were not outplayed, Binnington played well, and the advantage they had in pressure time is significant."

Agree completely. Not that I disagree with anything else you wrote, simply these statements stood out.

Good Luck!

Sharks won, and deserved to win.
The thing is, if you watched the play without goals it was pretty much even.
So with what I wrote earlier, plus the Blues bounce-back-after-a-loss-history I’ll go with them Monday, small, maybe even regular.

I see no evidence that the kid (25 yrs old) is faltering. Nor do the hockey people in SL that I am in touch with... do you see anything about him that indicates he is worn out?

He closed strong against Dallas, 1 goal allowed game #6, .957 save %, 1 goal game #7, .967 save %.

Many think the first game vs Sharks was very misleading (see above), if you watched each goal (I did), Binnington was not the problem, at all. The hockey people say so, too.

I am deciding, still, but will probably add on to my ML play or a -1.5 and or -.5 60 minutes, or all three. I am convinced the Blues will bounce back. They need Tarasenko to shoot the puck and quit hesitating, and for the defense to quit with the sloppy passing in their own end. Maybe they will get the breaks this game, too...

stale, I DO appreciate the feedback, though, TO ME this board is about exchanging information, so it is good to hear from you.

You might be right Berube said he was OK with the fast pace... so maybe it will go up and down again and go over!

Blues baby.

The Blues are solid, for real, just beat San Jose a top notch, well coached, talented team, in San Jose.

The dumb NBC broad on the post game show said Binnington "recovered" from the 5 goal game... after the other knowledgeable announcers said all night, pre-game, during the game, and after the game, that Binnington was not at fault in game #1, a review of each goal was such that it was clear he did not fail.

SL hockey people keep laughing at the notion that Binnington is a fearful rookie in "over his head"... this is the 3rd series he has shown them to be wrong.

The Blues defenders, again, made lazy-sloppy passes in their zone that cost them, but the rest of the squad played well, and they tightened up for the entire 3rd period and smothered the Sharks.

SJ might come back and win Wednesday, they are damn good, but The Blues now have the upper hand in this series and look like they can win it. I will probably go with a small -1/2 60 minute play on The Blues, not sure, yet.

We shall see!

I went with a small move on Boston -1.5 +290, talented Boston seems to be much the better team, offense is humming and they have a solid physical D and good goaltender. To me, seeing Boston that won first two by 3 and 4 goals, they deserved it, outskated-out hit-outplayed them.
Some say Carolina will be going all out, but WTF, this is the goddam Eastern Conference Championship, they sure were going all out the first two games, weren't they? The goaltender change should not help that much. Sure, there is also a chance Boston will let down a bit and Carolina wins.
Not a big recommendation, but cannot pass up the +290 with maybe the best team in hockey right now, only a small wager, and if this game holds to form, a 4-2 type game for Boston.

Thought about passing...
But went with Blues, small ML bet, sure San Jose will be riled up but, again, motivation is not much of a factor when you get to this stage, this is 3rd round of the Stanley Cup playoffs!
IMO St. Louis is the slightly better team, Binnington better than Jones, deeper forward lines #3 & #4, top notch two defensive lines though SJ has top defenders that can score and are super aggressive with turnover opportunities. Look for the Blues to, again, put more high pressure sequences on Jones than Sharks do on Binnington... Blues D blocks a lot of shots, a little appreciated factor. Everyone is critical of Tarasenko, he has not done much, but he is being harassed, Sharks do not want him to be a factor; if he breaks through, The Blues should roll. But IMO it will probably be another nail biter.

i dont watch much hockey but the last game blues scored really difficult shots. i was liking the sharks to take the cup but if these blues players consistently hit those tough angles, they prob are the team to beat.

I went small on Blues in regulation +186.
Dunn is OUT for the Blues, Karlsson is ??? for SJ though I expect if he plays he will be limited.
SJ is talented and at home, and Jones is playing well, but The Blues overall are still a tad better.
Blues 2 goals in Game 4 were fortunate, both were last touched by a Shark. That's hockey. Stupid to wager...
Blues held on with top notch defense and goaltending, SO MANY blocked shots and poke checks by defensemen... impressive, Blues were bombarded last period but did not yield.

Took the Blues, clearly the better team, last game coulda been 8-0... and SJ is banged up. It might be a romp so I also added some @ -1.5.

GL!

(if Blues are up, say, 5-1 with, say 7 to go, SJ will cheap shot the Blues the rest of the game, it will be brutal)

GO BLUES baby!

I will be watching pre-game RE: Pavelski, Hertl, and Karlsson... I will be ready to add to my wagers depending upon their status. IMO no way Karlsson will be 100%, best case he plays some power plays. Still have to worry about "Hand Pass Meier", he will be healthy.
Sure, SJ will fight hard and are a quality club but are over matched, possibly will fold when they are down. No way the Blues will let down, this is for the Stanley Cup Finals, motivation is not a factor. Skating, checking, passing, shooting, goaltending are the things to look at...
We shall see.

Pavelski game time dec, other two are out. Just loaded up more on Blues. Yes I understand the mentality that these situations sometimes backfire.
