anyone wants to bash intertops for the "terrible props" or pick on carib for not having the site up 24/7?

another nice idea... bash sia because they don't let you pull a sick gambler on them...

Shrink, is it not true that PanAm is paying ANYONE who wants a payout via WU?

Yes, they may have emptied their Neteller, but what is the problem if they are processing WU withdrawals without delay? (At least until a bank wire can reload Neteller)

I just got off the phone once more with Bill...

He informed me that some gamblers have been getting paid today and yes, TTINCO, Western Union has been one avenue, though I was told that no more Western Unions will go out until tomorrow...

The BOTTOM LINE is this:

There is a quarrel going on between the majority shareholders and the minority shareholders of BET PAN AM.

At this time, neither side is waivering...

That is most unfortunate because the one who suffers most are the gamblers...

I believe the MONEY is there but the problem is ACCESS...

Until these guys can remedy their internal problems, we all will continue to suffer, gamblers will continue to get slow paid, and this industry will suffer another blemish it doesn't need right before the SUPER BOWL!

Good point Mud. I guess that implies that A) A financial backer has pulled out, or B) The debt is now more than this\these backers are willing to cough up.

What affect will this all have on the upcoming super bowl party?

Is that still going as planned even with some players being owned money?

Spoke with Bill from Pan Am.. he told me the flex card would continue to work if Pan Am wasn't around but assured me they are going nowhere. As The Shrink stated, there is a tussle between local shareholders. Over Christmas, the flex card was dry, as I had requested 2,000 dollars. I was disappointed to hear they couldnt transfer it to my card, but they offered to send it western union and only charge me 5 dollars (the flex card fee). I accepted and was paid in less than 2 hours.

I have been on this Forum since July and cannot believe how every time this happens, people are shocked. In Britain, we have had this sort of thing going on for 30 years odd. It has now got to the point where it is virtually impossible to start a Bookmaking Company without backing by the Stock Exchange. Offshore books are not regulated so there are people who will take advantage, regardless of their initial good will. If this young Industry wants to become trustworthy then they will have to form a syndicate that gaurantees a Company's losses in the event of closing, under their umbrella, just like the Travel industry had to.

Betpanam, all I know is don't you dare freeze the existing accounts, because if you're not going to pay me, I'm going to try like hell to lose through you and win it somewhere else.

This totally sucks. Rx allowed a CONTEST to start in which people had to POST up up to $200 just a month ago. Weekend Warriers. I did that assumming that Rx would have some clue that this place was solid. Allowing them to come in for a contest and ask for Post up money to get the full contest winnings. Now this news. Im discuraged to say the least. How can you allow a contest with all the THANK YOUS and positive words and a month later have a place not paying and getting kicked off this site?

it does suck, but realistically, do you think the rx has the resources to police all of these books? they know what the books want them to know & that is it...they help in resolving disputes but aside from that...everyone must do there own DD & nothing is guaranteed.

Guys:

Just remember this.

If Panam (or any) book is a DEFINITE no-pay, then any attempt you make to scalp your money out of a no-pay book, is the functional equivalent of placing a single, naked, straight bet at the other book involved in the scalp.

If Panam is a DEFINITE no-pay, then you're not really scalping. You're simply placing a single bet at the other book - so you better damn well hope that bet wins.

Halifax is right its Russian Roulette to some extent. Suppose you lose at the wrong book? If anyone can predict which side of a middle will actually win, then that person has no need to bet the other side. I would advise people with money on deposit to see what happens in the next week. Bet at BetPanam if you feel all is lost, but don't try to lose there and win somewhere else, on the same game.

Do I know what is going to happen, of course not. Like most everyone else I am hoping for the book to survive, and continue to operate once all of the matters discussed here have been settled. I have plenty to lose if things don't get resolved, unfortunately I can only wait and see.

Bad management... You can have the sharpest lines in the world, but without a good management you are dead.

You may have nailed the situation with your last statement. Bottom line here is that I think the shrink may have been a little overzealous in his endorsment as he was wined and dined in Panama. However, my opinion is that starting any new business is difficult. I have played with Pan am and dealt with their management, and i just do not feel like this was a scam a la aces gold or dunes. I think that they paid their upper management too much, and catered too much to the wise guys. People who are bashing the shrink just don't understand the real world. Nobody can be expected to be 100% right all the time. I commend you guys for announcing pan am's problems first, and i think that people need to understand that businesses that a regulated go down all the time. 6 months before worldcom went down, they were a big BUY recommendation from many many top stock analysts. I am a little worried about my money, but I understand that things like this can happen, and i maintained a low balance, so it will be far from devastating.

Tate Hill, great post, what's what I'm trying to figure out. Their lines seem to be so sharp I can't believe I was up there, even a little. I just want my post up money back, and I'll probably lose the rest.
