Comped Burgers....always taste better when they are free...but they are the most expensive ones also; especially when you drop some money at the tables...pick your poison..

$5,000 Fleurburger at Mandalay Bay

"As is everything in Vegas, the FleurBurger 5000 is over the top with a hefty price tag of $5,000.00. Created by Chef Hubert Keller, the FleurBurger 5000 is served at Fleur de Lys in Mandalay Bay. It is a Kobe burger containing foie gras, a special truffle sauce, and is served on a brioche truffle bun with black truffles on the side. The burger is served with a bottle of Chateau Petrus 1990 poured in Ichendorf Brunello stemware (you get to keep the stemware) imported from Italy, and a certificate of authenticity will be mailed to your home so you can brag to your friends about how you spent $5000 in Vegas…on a burger."

This actually isn't a terrible deal. Incredibly over the top for sure. A bottle of 1990 Petrus runs like $2500-$3000, so factor in the crystal stemware you get to keep and the foie gras, kobe, and black truffles and it's not that outrageously overpriced.

That was a pretty good vid

I had no idea to use 25-30% and canola oil. I always thought lean was better and I thought olive oil was the be all end all of oils

For flavour you can't beat a good olive oil, but it's one of the worst for high temp cooking because it has a very low smoking point compared to others. I find myself using grapeseed oil or peanut oil (highest smoking points) to cook with much more nowadays than olive oil. For a dressing or as a finishing oil though, you can't beat a good fruity extra virgin olive oil.

I always wondered if Chef Hubert Keller ever felt a little bit unfortunate that he shares the same last name as Chef Thomas Keller, probably the greatest chef in the United States and top 5 in the world.

"Chef Keller is speaking at the conference today!"

"Oh, it's just Hubert."

"Bail?"

A place that won't make a burger medium rare is out of contention.

That takes out the fast food burger chains.

My experience, and I have a lot of experience, is the All-American Bar and Grill at the Rio (close to the sportsbook) has the No. 1 burger in Las Vegas.

They use angus beef and take a lot of pride. They'll cook to order.
