Hey dad, been a few months since I checked in! I'm looking for Oswalt to pitch well as he is competing with Worley for that 4th rotation spot come the playoffs. Phils should sweep the Stro's with Hamels and Halladay following Oswalt and try and wrap up the NL East ASAP to rest a few more guys!

Wow, how humiliating and stupid I look!! Oswalt pitched well enough to win but once again the Phillies offense and defense plays down to the opponent! I still like the series win with Hamels and Halladay today and tomorrow. Only a very few times have they lost back-to-back and on a rare occasions 3 in a row. Sorry for hi-jacking your thread dad, I'll sit back down now and listen!! lol

Not hijacking at all. Remarks are welcomed. PHI should start a run tonite. Hamels w/ a 095 A Whip. Then Halladay Wed 112 A Whip & 129 L3. Lee on a tear Thu 096 A Whip & 036 L3. Worley Fri 098 A Whip. Should be 4 wins esp 1st5 but since Phi H line will be high. My plays will either be for high vig, parlay w/ another tm that day or parlay PHI & PHI. Also a 4 tm parlay PHI all 4 days. My D3 pts are 10, 11, 10, 11.
These are all super high. You should be in for at least 4 days of sheer pleasure.

Awesome news dad! Seems like Brett Myers really gets jacked up to pitch against his former team! J.A. Happ howerver should be more like batting practice tonight with his 5.77 ERA, I too parlayed the Phils with Detroit and another with Brewers. BoL tonight.....................Bob

TUE - Parlay PHI & BOST
I am breaking my own rule here in picking a tm that had a dbl digit win last gm.
But the #s are so much in favor of Bost which means since the gm looks so good it will probably lose.
GL to all

Hey dad, not sure what is the down fall on the offense right now but its been ongoing for about 3 weeks now. The lack of hitting has cost Lee and Halladay a few games already. The defense which is the best in the league right now is committing errors nightly and I feel like I'm watching a completely different team right now. Manuel is not really resting players to get ready for the playoffs this is something else going on.

6 straight loses...........free falling! Talk on sports radio here is divided, some say the Phils have nothing to play for (I have a few comments on that) and others say they can turn on the switch and will with the last series against the Braves to roll into the playoffs. Here is my thoughts on this team not playing hard because they have clinched, they have, no had, 3 pitchers a month ago that could have made a strong running at the Cy Young award (Hamels, Halladay and Lee) these 3 guys have been playing their asses off to try and win. In fact it took Halladay to pitch a 1-0 complete game shutout to win the NL East pennant 2-3 weeks ago. Why as a team would you coast when your pitcher is not? Next everything else in sports is based on stats, BA, RBI's, number of hits, number of errors, etc....why as a player would you let your numbers drop for an entire 5 weeks? This just doesn't make sense to me and so I don't buy the cruise control theory that the team is not motivated.
I don't have the resources to find out how many games the Phils have won this season by 1 run but there is a bunch! I also don't know where the Phils stand in what I think is the power rating (hitting and runs scored I assume) but I bet it would be in the lower half of the league.
There is still time for this team to turn it around but not much, I don't know if a team can actually turn on a "switch" and start hitting but if there is I be pretty pissed off if I was a pitcher busting my ass trying to win!
Your thoughts guys.....................

Ruben Amaro stated yesterday this team has just checked out mentally and needs to get back on track. You think????? Another loss, 6-1, with lone run scored in the 9th. 4 hit game with Chooch getting 3 hits, all singles and pinch hitter Mayberry a double. Everyone else was 0-fer!9-10 days to go to the playoffs, 5 straight home losses including the last home game last night. Mets than Braves to go.

I became a Phillies fan after my beloved NYGiants went West. My other fav since I was 7 yrs old is BOST. Both tms now are going down the terlet, as they say in Brooklyn - naturally I hated the Dodgers. They both should be peaking in anticipation of the playoffs. I think the problem is like a virus. Somebody goes bad and it just spreads. Look at KC in the NFL. They have already packed it in for the season unless the tm attitude changes. If PHI & BOST don't turn it around now I think they will exit early in the playoffs. I hope I am wrong.

Love your posts.

Sept is the month of the monster vigs. Generally on tms headed for the playoffs.
If you lay the ML and lose it generally takes 3 wins to get back in the black.
But the heavy favs usually win since the SPs and the tms are trying to peak for the playoffs.
I don't advocate betting all the heavy favs but with keen selective capping you can make $$$.
