40 and I'm sure there are some out there who can relate to this one... Taking a crap is the highlight of my day.

Back hurts non stop, knees crapping out, shoulders shot.

I can relate with the guy who said he couldnt see the cards clearly at the poker table. I especially have this probem if Im playing on either end. And the craps table? Forget about it. I gotta listen to what the dealer calls out and I hope that I hear it clearly because I think my hearing is going to pot too.

Like I said. Taking a crap is the highlight of my day. I'm outta shape as hell and not sure I can ever get back in good shape again. So much pain, its tough to get it done.

What to do???

Anybody here ever have back spasms real bad, take a dump and wonder how they're going to wipe?

I was sitting on the pot for a while trying to figure out how I was going to wipe and after about 10 minutes it was drying quicker than a Dairy Queen chocolate dipped cone.

I went into the hike position a few times and couldn't make the reach. In nothing short of a circus act, I went all in and stretched as far as I could growling in pain and couple quick swabs done and here I am sitting in the chair, can't move an inch in either direction waiting for pain meds and muscle relaxers to kick in.

Anybody else here ever have back spasms so bad that you cant wipe? Its a really mentally anguishing feeling man. Im not sure I can live another 40 years like this without going nuts.

This is kind of a gross post but a serious question. I looked online to find a special reach tool but couldnt really find anything. I guess I need to ask the doctor. Kind of embarrassing though. Easier to ask a group of fellas who I will probably never come face to face with on here lol.

It's amazing the things we take for granted in life. Never thought I'd be a human chocolate dipped cone. This experience really makes me empathize/sympathize for those who are disabled and unable to physically take care of themselves. It scares the hell out of me.

Outside of a specific injury, most people's back problems originate with their mattress. Try memory foam.

I'm 45 now but I think 43-44 is when I realized there was no pretending anymore...always looked younger, but once you hit 40, it's downhill for sure. Funny to hear these guys in their early 30s feeling old. You got a lot of time left to "feel old"--don't' start now.

My elderly mother and father went to a restaurant last year. My Dad, 79, came out to get in the car after dinner before my mother. She, 73, came out afterwards and went to the car. My Dad was nowhere to be seen. She looked around. Went back inside... nothing - he was gone. She goes back outside to the car and there is a family that appears somewhat distressed standing by their own car. My Dad was inside theirs.. the cars looked alike and he got in THEIRS and was waiting for my Mom in the wrong car. LOL. My family, including my Dad can laugh this stuff off afterwards - but damn !

After reading all the replies I feel pretty good about myself because I didn’t notice any decline until I hit 55.

Now at 66 I’ve just accepted that I no longer can compete at anything athletic.

I will be 58 this year but still in good shape and in good health. Probably started feeling old when I hit 50. A few aches and pains at the joints but otherwise still feel pretty good. Gave up drinking(will have a beer on occasion when playing golf but that's it) a few years back and that probably helped.

37 and don't feel old yet (older yes of course). Still play competitive city basketball leagues and workout 6 times a week so that helps (but sore this morning after an OT game last night).

No grey and a full head of hair. But 3 kids and another recently on the way keep you young and make you feel old at the same time.

It's also how you dress, carry yourself, etc. I still buy "nice" jeans and clothes but at some point and age people don't give a shit and wear greasy sweatpants and shower when they get around to it. I'm sure I will be that guy someday too.

I changed careers when I was 45 - The last 3 years I have let myself go while focusing on trying to build my book of Business. I am getting back the income level I am accustomed to so I am starting to focus on getting back in shape.

I figure I need to lose 30 LBS.

I thought it was because I was getting old that I felt the way I do - Back pain, joint pain etc...but really its just bc I am out of shape. the comment about missing the mouth with food haha True for me too

Started running again and playing golf routinely.

I hit a 4 wood 250 yrds today of the tee.. I am on my way back.

I feel the energy coming back feeling younger....

I'm feeling old at 44 but that's mainly because my knees, ankles, and shoulders are shot. I have to walk gingerly during my first few steps out of bed because it feels like I'm going to hit the floor. Can't wait to see how I feel in 20 years.

It really hit me about 2-3 years ago when I was tossing a frisbee around with my stepdaughter's husband and his 7- 8 year old boy.

I used to play a lot of frisbee when younger ( 49 now). I tried to throw very hard to the dad and of course soft to the boy. Played maybe an hour. My right arm ached for a month after that.....so about 46 for me !

Breaking my ankle much like Jeter at 39 in similar fashion was a good start to getting old.

J'ever see the ads for Strutz ?
