Of course religion is all a farce, but being overly religious doesn't make one stupid at all. I view it as a harmless crutch that some need to give them support and mental help to get through life, much better to get your kids into church activities rather than gangs.

My parents were hardly church goers, I was told I was Protestant as a child, later in life I just went with Agnostic, in the last 15 years or so , I've become more honest with myself and have no qualms about saying I'm an athirst, but that's simply on an intellectual level.

Church type stuff is wholesome and just what many need, fine, great... If that helps you live your life , good, you found exactly what you needed to stabilize your life, but please don't try to recruit and save me, you have your beliefs, and I respect that, I don't push my beliefs onto others and expect the same in return.

with that said we have had a dramatic rise in mental illness, not surprisingly. An epidemic. No coping mechanisms. The healthcare community , a good % of, feels medications is the way to go. Big Pharma has phd/masters chaps working hard in the labs for the next golden nugget- a pill to make people happy ? to decrease their 'stress'? How can we 'fix the brain'? lol , really ya cant make this shit up

there's good in spirituality,imo. It can aid , to have a better outlook of life, help provide semblance of peace. A coping mechanism. The church is a place to go , meet people, talk to people...social interaction. A sense of community . To hear reinforcing good words . I'd rather see an individual go that route than refill a Paxil rx every month, gl with that.
