I tried it once...a bottle worth , no real reason though I never had a sleep problem... I was told it was all natural etc...

Then i read of the side effects, lowers sex drive and causes wild dreams..I suppose if the dreams were about wild sex it would all even out...it did seem to make me more drowsy from what I recall.

I didn't know about the side effect except wild dreams. Luckily I take it once in a blue moon.

A hot milky drink before bed, cocoa or even better Horlicks if you can get it.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Horlicks

Also some substantial exercise earlier in the evening (as others have suggested) is helpful.

Long term use of sleeping drugs is never a good idea, but if you try something use it as an aid to develop good sleep habits.

Thanks, I definitely give it a try.

The only problem is I only get like 5-6 hours of sleep a day and I know that stuff requires 8 hours of sleep. I am already dead tired in the mornings when I get up, I don't want it to be any worse.

Do you get at night a weird feeling in your legs like you need to move them?

Restless legs syndrome is quite a common cause of sleep depravation.

TGBN, many people including yours truly, report that twitchy leg feeling when using Tylenol PM style products. Don't have the active sleep ingredient in front of me.

Ambien is solid stuff, but agree that it's best to use it at most four nights a week.

Xanax also works well in smaller doses (.50mg should do it for most of us) but in larger doses does trigger the Funky Dream cycles.

Vicks NyQuil is a charm.

Excercise during the day is great.

Yoga as mentioned really helps.

Work-out 5 times a week for an hour and also split an 1-2 hours of cardio(pick-up basketball) atleast 6 hours apart from my lifting schedule so lack of exercise is definitely not it.

Don't drink caffeine of any sort. Only water and milk, so that isn't it either.

I get up at 2:30 am to go to work and I'm all amped up with sports action bets and it can be tough.

But I've been taking melatonin for years now and the dreams go in spurts but other than that no problem.

I take two a night,no more no less.

I've had a lot of problems going to sleep at a decent time lately. There have been a few nights in the past couple of months when I just never went to sleep for no reason. Its like I feel like I'm wasting time if I go to sleep. I think a big part of it is gambling, I'm so caught up in looking at lines and stats, etc that I always have something to do late at night (no, this does not in turn lead to me having a gambling problem). Then it gets so late that if I fall asleep I'm going to sleep until the middle of the day. My schedule is thrown way off and luckily I don't have much to do in the mornings but I need to fix it.

Actually I'm pretty sure that's the definition of a gambling problem.

OP, your problem is likely linked to depression/anxiety/stress, and not a physical symptom. Consider a psychologist (NOT psychiatrist). Ambien works but it's not a longterm solution. Melatonin's effects are psychosomatic, as is every legal "herbal" solution. Smoke some weed, it might help. If you have a religion, quit it. The feeling of liberation is actually pretty intense. If you don't have a gf, try to find one. Don't settle for hookers or one night stands. Take a month off from gambling and see if it was linked to that... the games will still be there when you get back.

Good luck to you. I've gone 3 days straight without sleep (used to do it a couple times a month) and by the end I seriously considered killing myself. Don't be like me.

I have always had problems sleeping at night. Part of it is I always feel like I need to be doing something, so when I am sleeping all I can think about is all the things I need to do. Sometimes I lay awake in my bed until like 4 in the morning exhausted as hell, but not being able to go to sleep. Then I get frustrated because I can't sleep and it makes it even harder. I was thinking about giving a sleep aid a try like that Lunesta. Do you guys have a hard time sleeping ever?

I take it, but not every night. I can still stay up for hours after I take the medication, but when I do finally get to sleep, I sleep much better.

I still wake up throughout the night, but I am able to go right back to sleep, instead of tossing and turning for 45 minutes at a time.

The only downside to the medication for me is the after taste in my mouth the next morning.

Ambien and Lunesta both have similar chemical makeups..... Zolpidem Tartrate. Both are habit forming and you will develop a dependency upon them over time but they are awesome and they do work. I recommend you take them ONLY when your having one of those 4 AM nights........I personally prefer the Ambien.

I know a company you can order from (They send it to your door Fed Ex and CHEAP) and they have doctors on staff to approve Rx´s and everything. Shoot me an email lostinluck at yahoo if you want more info.

I'm sending you an email now. You can see why I'm sending out email at this hour?

Kruser go to your local cvs and get a bottle of CALMAX

its costs about $20 bucks and drink it as a hot tea before you go to bed.

It will not make you go to sleep any quicker, but when you wake up
you will feel very well rested. This is one of the only products that works for me every time I take it.....

very good stuff

drinking it right now before I go to bed:drink::drink:

The symptoms of RLS are aroused by some medications ( antidepressants,...) and many unknow sufferers realise they are affected by the disease in these occasions ( yours truly).

RLS comes and goes, it is genetic
