Thanks, I have to go get an allergy shot on Friday anyways so I will ask.

With all these ideas, maybe I can just go into a month long hibernation.

I have this problem too. I have taken ambien a few times and it's the some of the only times I have ever gotten a good night sleep and woken up refreshed.

Also, when your laying there and your mind is wondering about everything under the sun, think of a bunch of random objects in a fast sequence, in a dreamy, trippy way. For example picture a lightbulb, a ball, a doorknob, a DVD player, a towel and so on. That probabaly makes no sense and sounds absolutely stupid but it works much better than worrying about your bills, or fantasizing about how you would decorate your mansion if you won the lottery, while your laying there tossing and turning at 4:00 am.

Actually I'm pretty sure that's the definition of a gambling problem.

OP, your problem is likely linked to depression/anxiety/stress, and not a physical symptom. Consider a psychologist (NOT psychiatrist). Ambien works but it's not a longterm solution. Melatonin's effects are psychosomatic, as is every legal "herbal" solution. Smoke some weed, it might help. If you have a religion, quit it. The feeling of liberation is actually pretty intense. If you don't have a gf, try to find one. Don't settle for hookers or one night stands. Take a month off from gambling and see if it was linked to that... the games will still be there when you get back.

Good luck to you. I've gone 3 days straight without sleep (used to do it a couple times a month) and by the end I seriously considered killing myself. Don't be like me.

Whats wrong with hookers and one night stands???

Kruser I would seriously start with some Benadryl and go from there.

Since I have stopped gambling this year, I am sleeping better, much less stressed, and feel better. Although the rush of gambling is fun.

Benadryl always made me feel weird the next morning. I have some AdvilPM. Tried it two night this week and slept solid. I actually felt myself falling asleep like I would normally. They look like liquigels. Worked within 30 mins. I woke up refreshed. Didn't remember any dreams either nights, but best sleep aid I've tried yet(otc)

Good luck.

I have terrible trouble sleeping and I take Lunesta about every other night. It works awesomely for me as it works fast and I sleep solidly through the night. However, it makes me feel a bit off in the morning.

I take Valium sometimes as a muscle relaxant for a back injury from a year ago and that stuff works better than anything for me. However, it is not something I want to take often.

I have a script for Lunesta.
I work graveyard and have insomenia.
Two things, I find I have to double up on it, and it leaves an awful after taste the next morning.

Have you got a full Physical and blood workup the past year??? maybe you need to see a Dr and check yourself out and then bring up this non-sleeping thing, being that you workout all the time and do not drink caffine

and If your not amped up on games and still can not sleep something else might be wrong

Raw,

Crazy thing is that I have taken several different types of pharmacudicals, mostly Xanax. However, Benadryl knocks me on my ass more that any of them. Not only does it make me sleep, but makes me feel as though I am melting into my bed. LOL.

Why is that?

I used to take Xanax when I fly, because of my fear of flying, but now I am looking forward to just taking two Benadryl.
