Baroni is a guy who couldn't cut it in Pride or UFC because he kept getting taken down and/or gassing. I do agree that Shamrock vs. Cung Le was a good match up and both are totally legit. But Robbie Lawler is another one, who is in Elite because he clouldn't cut it in the UFC... And he has a belt in Elite!

I disagree. The organization is a joke. Baroni and Shamrock was a good fight and all but Baroni is a C level fighter at best and the Cung Le fight with Shamrock was dumb because Frank didn't even try and take Cung down where he had a huge advantage. Everything about EliteXC screams of fix.
No, not necessarily, they can still have a good fight. Think of it this way. I love soccer, but I like good soccer. If I watch a back and forth 5-4 game from the 2nd division in Ecuador it may have been an ENTERTAINING game and could even have been a great game, but the league and players still blow. You guys watched a 1-0 game from the 3rd division of Ecuador where the goal was scored on a dodgy penalty in the 92nd minute. In other words, a crap card with crap fights from a crap organization. Even the circumstances under which the Lawler/Smith fight was stopped were dodgy.
I thought I agreed with that, but if they continue with this crap on network TV it will only hurt MMA. Dana White really f*ed up not getting the network contract. Seriously though, give it another whirl Sunday night, there is also another UFC on June 7th. I guarantee tomorrow's card is much better quality than this crap.

There is a WEC card on Versus tonight that you should check out, two title fights for the little guys (145 and under). It is in HD if you have Directv. WEC is often on Versus, UFC is on Spike. They have Fight Nights (equivalent of what was on CBS last night) periodically and The Ultimate Fighter (UFC version of The Contender) is on weekly (not sure which days, I have it set to record). There are other fight leagues on random channels but I don't want them. IFL is on Fox Sports Affiliates, HDNet Fights is on HD Net.
Stick to WEC and UFC. PRIDE is no longer but there is a new organization, DREAM, that is owned by some of the same guys, not sure if it is shown anywhere in the US though.
Seriously, to anyone who tuned in last night for your first dose of MMA, just discard it from your memory and give it another run with WEC or UFC. That was just complete shit.
The following guys are legit fighters: MURILO RUA, RICCO RODRIGUEZ, ROBBIE LAWLER, NICK DIAZ, YVES EDWARDS, JOEY VILLASENOR, JAKE SHIELDS, KJ NOONS, ANTONIO SILVA, FRANK SHAMROCK - are they the best fighers of all time no - but Big Foot and Ninja and Shamrock are top level fighters
