SSI-

Dont forget about Cy Youngs Wins.

But the record that has no chance of being broken..........

Cy Young's career losses....

Heck I dont think anyone can even lose 150 anymore. Let alone 300 plus. If a guy loses 15 games for 5 straight seasons, I doubt he will have a long career.

Young lost about 375 games!!

Okay...I am making a a change on the 25 man roster.

Rose being sent down and Ty Cobb replacing him.

Rose was the hit king but Cobb had a few less and did everything else (besides field) alot better.

J-Man,

Take a look at Tris Speaker.

Another all-time great along with Eddie Collins that not many people talk about.

i 20 yrs old so i really can't try to compare yogi berra and bench and older catchers becasue to me catching is so important and numbers alone don't tell the whole story

however having piazza ahead of pudge is a joke

piazza wa sa moinster at the platrte defiantely a better hitter than pudge but all around its not even close

capper, cy young's records were from another era. and i dont feel relateable to today.. Joe D's record is relateable to any era.. ----- guys, do you think we will have a .400 hitter, before we have a triple crown winner? or do you think the hit streak will be broken first.... can you imagine the media attention if someone got to 50..

I don`t see 56 going down...I started a thread about these records a few months ago...

I could see .400 being broke before 56, I could even see triple before 56

One record that won t go down CY YOUNG what is it 511? That will never go down!

Journey, thats not relateable.. what about johnny vandemeers back to back no hitters,, do you think that will be even tied, and you can forget about it ever being broken.. until this power era of homers is over, then the all time stolen base mark wont be approached for season or career.. someone mentioned this earlier, remember the 80's with the cards on astro turf.. the game was different then.. we are in the power era..

i also doubt anyone breaks nolan's strikeout record,, he was not the best pitcher of all time but he had the best arm to ever walk the face of the earth.. he was amazing to watch as a 40yr old..

Its hard to overlook Cobb, I think what hurts TY is he was an outfielder, and not a whole lot of power, although if I`m not mistaken, Ty did lead the league in home runs a couple times before the ball was livened....

jatee, no doubt Murray`s best year was going to be 1981, he was on a great pace with about 1/3 a season left...His RBI numbers are there, and like i said he never played for high scoring teams...

Edgar Martinez may be the best second half of a career there ever was...He didn t get cranked up til he was in his 30`s...Edgar could hit for another 5 years easy!

Heres a question to ponder.

How much longer could Jimmy Foxx and Hank Greenberg have played if they were in the DH era?????

Without the DH there would be no Edgar Martinez.
